Game 57: Kings (28-28) vs Hornets (14-41)

After a rough loss to the Warriors at home and two off-days, we have the Hornets at home before heading out for a road trip. We have a couple more "easy" games (that hasn't meant a whole lot this year) against Charlotte and Utah before a pretty brutal stretch of games in March. If we want to right the ship and stay in playoff contention, we can't afford to drop games like tonight. At this point, we are looking to hold on to a 9/10 play-in spot.

Let's see how these guys start. Will be very telling.

Question: Can you have a starters only meeting and then bench one of the starters? And not have that guy lost for the rest of the season.

Keon checks in three minutes into the game and hits a three within 7 seconds. Just start him.

Bit better defensive intensity. Sabonis getting up and in. Makes a difference.

Someone needs to check Deebo's hands. It sticks to them like no other player in history. Reason why the dude gets 4-5 assists is only giving up passes when he has to. Over it.

Overall a much better showing. Playing a better brand other than the old guy.

Still need to push the pace, move and attack the rim. That's how they get open shots. D has been better, but lucky the Hornets aren't hitting, except for Bridges.

See that's what I'm talking about. Deebo just holding onto it until 4 seconds left on the clock and then he passes to JV for 3? WTF. Get this clown off the court and send him back to Rucker Park. Great 1 on 1 guy, but a destroyer of team basketball.

This is what I expect the team to look like against a team like Charlotte. Zach has it going tonight.

It’s pretty amazing the trollish behavior around LaVine by many Kings fans

Guy was targeted by the Kings as a tremendous efficient scorer coming into his own and folks won’t let him even settle into his new team

The Fox led Kings wasted the Kings good schedule, so it’s probably better the team lose out, but look solid heading into next year

LaRavia should be affordable at the end of this season, if we want him

Pump the brakes. Stop with the inbuilt excuses.

Like this was a good game to get back on track. The players came out with a better attitude. Zach was more aggressive which led to a couple less TOs and the Kings beat a Hornets team that is without 5 of their what? Top 8-9 players?

The Blazers of all teams beat them 141-88 with Mark Williams playing.

This is not the time to do laps.

So to put this in perspective. Let's say the Kings went in with. And it may well be a little swayed towards the Kings.

JV
Keegan
LaRavia/Crawford
Keon/Carter
Monk/Fultz/Jones

vs

Williams/Nurkic
Bridges/Williams
Miller/Okogie
Green/Smith Jr
Ball/Mann

Good beam, was really fun to watch lavine take over like that. Hopefully offensively he can rattle off a few games like that.

Tempering expectations because it was Charlotte and this team was due, but its about time they either put together another good 10 games stretch or start to somewhat tank and fall behind phx.
