Side Note: Kings fans seemed 75/25 anti-fox towards the end there. Will those same voices turn on Sabonis? I mean Fox did it pre-deadline. Sabonis is clearly airing these frustrations the last 3 weeks in the middle of fighting for the play-in spot.
And I say this not blaming Sabonis. I wouldn't want to stick around this dumpster fire either!

The funny thing is BOTH Fox and Sabonis went to the Kings and asked for more defensive help last off season.
It's pretty clear that Fox was a Brown guy and Sabonis wasn't.
BUT they both wanted the FO to make changes and give the team more defensive help. Fox simply added that if Brown isn't here, neither am I and I for one don't blame him. It's a decision he made due to so much instability through his career.
I wouldn't blame Sabonis either if he wanted to move on. He has been a warrior for the Kings and one of the most consistent Kings players to put the jersey on IMO. Not without his faults, but he hasn't played many bad games.
The biggest blunder the Kings can make from here is trading Domas along with the draft capital acquired and sticking with DDR and Lavine on the same team. I have a sick feeling in the stomach it may occur.
I'm not against keeping Lavine to be honest (may just have to), but if the FO is the same they will make the same mistakes, guaranteed. They have said it, they want an offense system. That's why they got DDR, that's why they traded for Lavine. Their targets are always offense only guys. Kuzma etc.

Every logical Kings fan asked the same. I said it myself, the day we lost to GS. We saw the problems, go trade Barnes, Lyles, Huerter and picks for guys like Rui, PJ, DFS (All ended up going for cheap). Instead the team said na F it lets run it back. That was the start to the end right there.
I don't see any possible way that DeMar is on this team next year. He came to play with Fox, and now Fox is gone. He is 36 years old and realizes he's got a few years left in the tank. He's not positive value, but he's also not a huge negative. I think we work with his agent to find him a new home where we get an expiring contract and some 2nds.
Now Zach is a different story. We need to get any possible scenario he isn't on the team next year out of our heads. I can only think of 2-3 year worse contracts in the entire league. We aren't moving him short of sacrificing our lotto pick.

Absolutely. I think DDR is going to be just as hard to move though because it's just not easy to find a FO that will look at his game and say, he will fit with coach X. Then you have to find contracts to match. Not impossible or anything, just not going to be easy.
Lavine will be a great expiring after next season and if Sacramento does actually fall out of the play in and keep the pick they should absolutely entertain trading Sabonis and doing a quick fly rebuild of 2-3 years. Keep this years, tank next and hope its enough for a top 10 pick (it will be) Lavine is an expiring. Use that along with young talent/picks to go and get your #1 superstar if you can't draft him. Easier said than done, I know.
Force Keegan to be the #1 option on this team. If he turns the ball over 10 times a game who cares, just get him 20 shots a game, not 10.
That is his #1 priority this off season (which it should have been last year too), work with whoever it takes to improve your floor game, attacking the basket, getting to the rim and mid range moves.
The Kings are so inept they are truly trying to force him into being a 3&D guy when the potential is so much more.

I agree with everything you said outside of this - Lavine is an expiring. Use that along with young talent/picks to go and get your #1 superstar if you can't draft him.
Absolutely no more short cuts. Take the long route. Let him expire and don't try and trade for a star. Only scenario is maybe a lamelo or someone that's very very young and locked in.
