- Didn't want Derozan in the offseason, Vivek was the driving force behind that.
- Monte has not wanted Doug Christie as coach the entire time. Doug is a Vivek guy.
- Vivek wants to give Zach Lavine an extension this summer.
- Domas and Derozan's agents want them out of Sacramento.
Prepare for more years of misery.

Monte doesn't get a pass by spreading a narrative after this.
By all accounts he was the draft guy. Why the hell do you continue to draft guards if Vivek is going to handcuff you during FA? Go out and draft Ware or Da Silva or instead of Davion get us Murphy or Jalen Johnson. Or don't trade our pick to dump Holmes just to give Sabonis an early extension. Monte had so many chances even if Vivek was the main one pulling the strings.
The harsh reality is everyone involved sucks. Monte sucks, Vivek, Wilcox, Matina. The team has a stench that surrounds the organization. Vivek needs to be forced to sell.

I don't disagree and definitely don't absolve Monte of a lot of the bad decisions he made but I think this season in particular there were some direct orders coming from Vivek. I think a lot of that was impatience on Vivek's part that Monte wasn't doing enough and I can totally get behind that but Monte's whole MO was flexibility and patience but everything we did this summer was totally the opposite.
100% agree that Monte failing to get the wings we needed is on him though. Full stop.

Ya for sure, well you had two guys who made zero sense together.
Vivek has zero patience, and Monte is building a team with the intention to go all in once Harden, Lebron, KD, Kawhi, and Jokic retire lol. Match made in heaven.

Often GMs who fail don't get more NBA front office jobs. For instance, it'll be interesting to see if McNair gets near another GM job. Can he at least be Asst. GM or Director of Personnel or something like that?
Kings looked like they were on a good trajectory after Brown took over. But he was mainly a defensive coach and that team, as good as they were, were offense, little defense.
Yeah going guard-heavy for years in the draft probably hurt the team, but passing up Luka for Bagley is probably very hard to recover from.
Speaking of which, did I hear that Vlade is hanging around the club?

I didn’t necessarily like the hire. I loved the Monte hire where Vivek hired a third party firm to come up with an appointee critically, and Perry doesn’t have a solid enough background. Wish Vivek went the firm route again to analytically comb for potential candidates
We’ll see who is charge with the coaching situation, if Doug stays or not. Hopefully Scott has the wherewithal to bring in his own guy if the situation calls for it

Perry has pretty impressive experience and going by his press conference he has complete autonomy and will be conducting interviews for head coaches so he isn't being saddled with Doug. I kinda think McNair also had this autonomy and Vivek is being blamed because fired coaches and GMs use Amick as a mouthpiece to establish narratives on their way out. I don't think Vivek meddles any more than other owners.
