Game 1 Thread: Kings (0-0) @ Suns (0-0)

Post#1 » by codydaze » Wed Oct 22, 2025 4:25 pm

Sacramento Kings basketball is back! We will be without both Keegan Murray and Domantas Sabonis today so it will be interesting to see what starting unit Doug throws out there. Predictions below? I think we will see Schroder/Lavine/Clifford/Derozan/Raynaud starting but wouldn't be surprised to see Eubanks or Saric starting either.

The summer moves and overall roster for this year has left me pretty uninspired but I am looking forward to seeing what the young guys can do out there. My best case scenario is the season goes south quick and we blow things up and give the young guys full control of the team. I will be on draft watch this year!

No Grayson Allen or Jalen Green, this might be winnable on the road

I was about to come down on Eubanks and Doug for starting him but good last minutes here from him... the Eubanks experience...

Saric giving good minutes.... Russ..... 3 turnovers in 3 minutes or something... and Keon still not on the floor.. I don't think his best position is off the bench as ive said all along (no "pop"), but with the lineups he can start and let DDR cook off the bench

It doesn't look too bad given the circumstances after the first quarter tbh

I'm a little behind, I'm on swim class duties on Wednesdays but we're playing pretty well i the first quarter. Doug seems to be going deep into the rotation which I like early in the year. Also, this Phoenix roster is terrible, we at least have competent pieces just questionable fit but they lack talent outside of Booker.

Easy to forget - lavine/ddr once led a good playoff team

Interesting parallels to the first beam team, actually. 46 wins, lost in 5 games in the first round then followed the next two seasons with 40 and 39 wins with play-in losses both years.

Zach has just been good, all around to start the young season. Maybe getting some athleticism back

The Suns brutalized us with their offensive rebounding. But there was more scrap in the Kings tonight than I expected. Nice to see some grit out there.

Yep.

Rebounding been disgusting and might single handedly cost the game

And boy… Cardwell not making it… supposed to be a defensive monster with no O, and I’m seeing no D.

Keon been nothing but great, despite my off/on reservations about his O.. Even if not a bench player shouldn’t be this deep off the bench. Start him with these injuries in particular

Ride the starters here
