Pre Game Analysis:

My Take On The Seattle SuperSonics:
so many issues surrounding this team, so until they address those issues, One can never predict the future.

Image The Ernie Johnson Stat:
The Sonics Are dead last in The NBA in Every Defensive Category, but don't sleep on them because they can score with the best of them.

Preview:
The Seattle SuperSonics hope to avoid setting a dubious franchise record for a second time this season Sunday night when they host the Sacramento Kings.

The SuperSonics (9-34), holders of the second-worst record in the Western Conference, tied a team record Friday with their 13th consecutive loss -- 99-90 to Atlanta.

That record had been set with an 0-8 start to this season after ending 2006-07 by losing its final five games.

You should be getting paid for this...

Kings should win this one easily, but you never know with this team.

I had thought of going to this game tonight, but there is a good chance that we will get snow tonight and I don't want to deal with trying to drive home in the snow (it's a real bitch with the hills I have to go up).

This should be an automatic win for us. But my gut tells me that we could be vulnerable. The Sonics are due for a win, and with the way we have been playing, we may just make enough mistakes to give them that win. I hope not, but this game worries me.

For some reason, Kevin Martin goes off against the Sonics. I expect that tonight.... And Delonte West always goes off against the Kings...

This should be an automatic win from the Kings... If we did lose, I will seriously have a fit....

Kings win... be surprised if this is a loss

KF10 wrote:And Delonte West always goes off against the Kings...

No he does not.

We won both games last season. And West was hot in the 1st half at the Arco game, as Bibby couldn't guard him (which got him benched for a quite a bit). Then Salmons shut him down in the 2nd half. Think Cisco helped out as well. The game at Boston, he played well over the game, but again, we won. That's his only good game against us.

The run-down of his game at Arco last season:

BOS SAC down 7-15 1 08:15 Delonte West missed jump shot
BOS SAC down 13-22 1 04:30 Delonte West made 3-point 3pt shot
BOS SAC down 20-27 1 02:37 Delonte West made 3-point 3pt shot, assisted by Paul Pierce
BOS SAC down 23-27 1 02:09 Delonte West made 2-point dunk shot, assisted by Al Jefferson
BOS SAC down 35-45 2 06:51 Delonte West made 2-point jump shot, assisted by Paul Pierce
BOS SAC down 37-47 2 05:39 Delonte West made 3-point 3pt shot, assisted by Brian Scalabrine
BOS SAC down 53-60 2 01:45 Delonte West made 3-point 3pt shot, assisted by Sebastian Telfair
BOS SAC down 58-64 2 00:42 Delonte West made 3-point 3pt shot, assisted by Paul Pierce
BOS SAC down 68-77 3 07:58 Delonte West made 2-point jump shot
BOS SAC down 71-87 3 04:37 Delonte West missed jump shot
BOS SAC down 81-91 4 11:46 Delonte West missed 3pt shot
BOS SAC down 90-100 4 08:52 Delonte West missed jump shot
BOS SAC down 92-100 4 07:26 Delonte West made 2-point jump shot, assisted by Ryan Gomes
BOS SAC down 94-100 4 06:22 Delonte West missed 3pt shot
BOS SAC down 97-102 4 03:01 Delonte West missed layup shot
BOS SAC down 101-104 4 00:00 Delonte West missed 3pt shot

The number after "down *score here*" is the quarter number.

05-06: at Boston, we lost, but West went 2-11 for 7 pts in 38 min., and at Arco 6-11 for 14 pts, which is 2 pts above his average that season.

Sonics pre-season game: Orien Greene shut down West after a hot 1st half. Kings won.

Sonics 1st regular season game: 2 pts, 1-3 FG, 1 ast, 6 minutes. Kings won.

The statisctial and on-court evidence has been there to show that West isn't a Kings killer. I guess you just forgot what's happened, as a whole in the games, and when I've pointed this out to you earlier in the season (most of the above is from a couple past posts I've made on this).

Doesn't mean he won't go off tonight, but overall in his career, he hasn't been huge against us at all. I'd say we have the wing-defenders to contain him for the game, too.

Why do you have to pick on me Ballings? Let me have a time to be right...jk... Wow, that's true. Eh, I always perceived West as a Kings killer to an extent...But lets see that if he proves me wrong...

Yeah, you are probably right. A mis-collection in my behalf. West is still a good player IMO...

Is it me or it seems that we are toying with the Sonics? It doesnt seems that we are really playing with intensity that much... I like the ball movement though...

Which is why I made my earlier prediction that we could end up throwing this one away.

Kings are looking pretty good so far. Good ball movement.

i wish Moore wasn't so surprised every time someone passes him the ball. He might catch or not fumble so many.

The team has been moving the ball, and Bibby is actually taking Good shots within the scheme of the offense. :o

I like the way we played in the first half.

Yeah, Bibby isnt chucker mode, he is playing smart, passing the ball and the playing the flow of the game...Also, his defense has improved as well...
