Kwame, Critt, Ariza for Artest and KT
Lakers:
Fish/KB24/Artest/Odom/Bynum
Farmar/Vujacic/Walton/Turiaf/Mihm
Kings:
Bibby/Martin/Salmons/Moore/Miller
Critt/Udrih/Ariza/Garcia/Hawes/SAR/Williams/Jones
I say yes.

I'd rather have their 1st round pick than Ariza but this isn't bad.

Think about where this puts the Lakers. Its good value for Artest, we get rid of KTs contract and Critt is a nice prospect but not the best. But we're giving the Lakers, a team in our division in a position to be the favorites for at least the next few years. I'd bet Artest stays if they're winning, and with Kobe+Bynum with Artest,Odom at the forwards with a solid PGs,bench thats likely.

What if Artest opts out and signs with the Lakers for the MLE in the off season? Then they KEEP Critt and have Critt/Kobe/Artest/Odom/Bynum for the next few years? Why care what the other team is going to do? If it improves the KINGS, I'm all for it.
....even though I hate the Lakers.

If at the end of the day this is the best of the bunch then sure.

Lakers send their pick our way and I get quite a bit more interested.

I would want the 1st but I would take the deal as it stands. Moves KT, check. Gets young prospect at 1 or 4, check. Expiring contracts, check. Maybe a conditional 1st based on playoff performance or if he resigns.

I am all of this deal but I don't want ariza. give us the first instead. If we can't get the first then I'm still fine wiht this deal.
I think Critt could be something like Gilbert in a few years and we move KT's contract for expirings, so good.
Petrie should do this trade yesterday.

I'd definitely do it. Love Crittenton and Ariza, plus Kwame is an expiring.
I'd want the 1st too, but would do it without it.
This would allow us to fully concentrate on drafting the right kind of PF.

In the way of a big athletic guard, yes, but he's going to be a better, consistent play-maker and defender than Gilbert. Already has shown this in some spurts with the Lakers.

We have to include Ariza to make the salaries work. But instead, if you don't want Ariza and want their 1st instead...
Brown/Critt/Mihm/1st for KT/Artest

Well with the package Gasol got it shows this deal was totally realistic if not selling Artest a bit short.

With the Gasol trade, we can pretty much forget about sending Artest to the Lakers, they made their big play, it's unlikely that they'd do 2 in one season.

There goes any Artest or Bibby trade possibilities to the Lakers. Crittenton was the only relevant main asset for us (aside from Kwame's expiring) - plus the R1 pick(s) and Kwame gone.
Another one eliminated. Wow.

There's always a S/T possibility after the season with somebody.

I wouldn't think so if they are really looking for cap space. The team would have to still balance out the salaries and most likely not have the expirings out there now (the few that are left at this point), unless they are under the cap and if they are they don't need a sign and trade anyway!
No if Ron isn't traded by the deadline he is G-O-N-E.

They could easily bomb out over the next 2-3 weeks and realize they need more ammo.

Yup. But who knows.
