artest/warriors rumor from Bucher

Post#1 » by rly723 » Thu Feb 7, 2008 1:36 am

Warriors have expiring deals and a 10mill TE to offer (Pietrus, Barnes, Azubuike
some prospects in Wright/Belineleli/O'Bryant/Kosta
a straight up Harrington/Artest dal matches up, but i doubt sac wants his deal

but i dont think kings seem to anxious to help out the warrriors

do you see a trade matching up?

"There was some weird rumor floating out there that the Warriors would make a run at Ron Artest. What was proposed out there doesn't work as far as numbers are concerned, but that's another team. The Warriors are another team that I could see going for broke and signing Chris Webber wouldn't be the end of it."

Link? To be honest I'd love to work out a deal for Wright but I dunno if that's possible. But Ron would make the Warriors a lot better.

I heard about this aswell, it was around 6:30 am i think, so far Warriors seem like the most realistic for the Kings and for the Warriors, they will reach another step at a title run.

If the Kings can some how get Wright, then I think a deal can be done.
KT for the TE
Artest for Barnes and Wright.

Not sure if that works or if the Warriors would do that.

Warriors fans truly believe they can get Artest for either the trade exception (straight up), expiring contracts (straight up), or Al Harrington (again, straight up).

I honestly forgot how bad and utterly delusional their fan base was. I mean I work with some of them but my God. Then again, I forgot about the whole Martin/Ellis comparo that they still refuse to acknowledge.

Lol, that's delusional. Getting rid of KT as well as getting Wright?

I think, if any deal goes down, its either Artest for Barnes/Wright

or
Artest for Barnes/POB
KT for TPE

Either a prospect, or removal of KT, not bot

If the Kings could get Brandan Wright for Artest that would be great. We may have to add some type of sweetener but it'd be worth it IMO. Artest+Garcia for Wright+Barnes or Pietrus?

Moore for POB and Wright

Artest for TE.

No way they take KT and give Wright. I think this helps Warriors tremendously. They give up two young bigs but get a great defender who would fit in well on GS as well as a long active big to help out down low.

believe it or not, a 10 mill TE is golden come draft time, that gives flexibility to make a huge trade

any of those offers are better than linas/najera reported deal from nuggets

TE= 10mill trade exemption from jrich deal

meaning warriors can take on 10mill from trade without having to match up salaries

perfect for a team wanting to dump a player's salary and clear cap space for the future

its valid until after the 08 draft

Just trade Ron, it's obvious he doesn't want to be here and tonight shows we need to play our young guys more anyway. I mean wtf, we don't have anything to lose anyway. We're not a playoff team, if we're going to be mediocre this year at least let it be something for our young players to achieve and a building block for them to improve rather than letting it be because our older guys are underachieving.

Not who, it's what...it's a trade exception that they received when the W's traded J-Rich to the Bobcats this summer.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

We aren't getting Wright; that should be pretty obvious.

I just don't see the Kings and Warriors as good trading partners because:

a) The trade exception and a 1st is NOT enough for Artest
b) The Kings have no use for most of the Warriors players (that they would trade)--specially Harrington.
c) The Warriors aren't going to take back Thomas. He would put them way too far into the luxury tax.

Why would the Warriors have traded veterian for Wright if 6 months later then just do it right back?

Much as I love it, I doubt it.

I didnt say it would happen. I just said thats something I would want.

Most likely a deal would be probably Barnes, Wright, and POB or something like that.

Yeah, we can only hope lol.

I agree, unless the Warriors are willing to move one of their young players like Wright I really dont see this happening.

Artest is better and half the price of J-RICH.

artest will be gone either way, a 10mill TE + pick is better than any other rumors ive heard or read. that said, i think the kings might want warriors to pay more than some other team.

Let him go then, it's funny. I'd rather he go away and take the MLE from someone, than give our divisional rivals the upperhand at re-signing him. Lakers/Clippers/Suns/Clippers are definitely out of the Ron Artest sweepstakes, and most of the other WC teams would have to put up a pretty good package, or else we'll just ship him to NY for Jerome James.
