I hope this is just the beginning of major changes throughout the week... I expect follow up trades from Petrie...

If this is all that gets done it may look like somewhat of a crappy trade. In needs a follow up for sure. We need more salary off the books and we need to clear up that frontcourt a little bit.

The Kings would have like 20 players after the 2 trades.

This would be a great trade for us... Wont happen though

Would have to include a FC player. Kenny, Reef, or Mikki...your choice.

So where does Salmons stand now? Still buried on the bench behind Artest, or could he conceivably see some more PT

When Artest goes he is our number 2 option. Until? Yes, most likely iffy minutes.

Wow talk about dreaming.
They probably wouldn't give up Wright to us, let alone add in a 1st, their 1st from last year, a prospect big, and Pietrus.

But if it matters, I would do the deal.

I would hope so, at least. And seems like a realistic possibility. Not bringing back Justin would be stupid, frankly.

There's no real justifiable reason to not bring him back.

SKZZZ wrote:We have 2 this year! And there are some great PF prospects that should be there. Caracter, Gibson, etc. Plus maybe a guy like Deron Washington.

Yeah, that's right. We can really have a quality draft, and should.

I'm not into Caracter at all, as a future starter, though. Could be an interesting off the bench speciaility big man, though.

So how did the "need to cut" people work out? I thought we could just cut one of these guys (say Anthony Johnson) instead of Justin or Jones.

My guess is it just came down to guaranteed money. Justin and Jones' contracts were not guaranteed. Straight dollars decision, not about talent or potential contribution.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

Why the **** waived Justin Williams Petrie!!! I know this save them a few hundred thousands, but **** **** ****! Waive Wright instead.

Edit* Actually why not just include them in the trade, if you gonna just waive them? You can save even more money that way. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!

This offseason how much money would we have to sign someone? I hope we have enough to get Calderon although i know it is unlikely but i hope we get a shot at him.

I think Calderon would be a good fit for this team at PG. He does some of everything effectively. Especially running a team.

Depends if we draft a PG, though. But I'd expect us to draft a PF rather than a PG. With the load of bigs in this draft.

If Artest is traded for an expiring contract do you guys see the Kings interested in adding Corey Maggette at SF? As a Clipper fan, I could see the Kings making a run at Maggette in the offseason if they have the cap room to do it.

Ok. So now I know why Petrie waived Justin Williams but not one of Wright/Lue/Johnson. You have to waived the players to make roster first before making the trade.
