About food and beverage, the only thing I hate more than going on a diet is being told I could use one by those few who don't want them to think that, which happened 2 hours ago, so good bye ribeyes, beer, potatos, baguettes and rich cheese, see you in a month or 2, welcome boiled chicken breast, low calories bread, lettuce and a whole bunch of other green stuff.

Spaten makes great beer too.
+1
Along with Guinness I really like most all of the ales made by Deschutes Brewery in Oregon. I'm not really a fan of pilsners at all (or the Americanized, mass-produced piss water versions).

At 10%, I'm sure you won't be drinking a lot of them.

Good luck trying to find it. It does not have a very big distribution since is it made by one of the smaller breweries in Oregon. It's even hard to find in the stores in th Portland area. It is distributed in California by Morris Distribution out of Petaluma, so you might be able to find it somewhere in NorCal. But you may have to make a trip to their pub in Portland to try it.

White Ales (Blue Moon), Hefeweizens (Pyramid), and Amber Ales (Fat Tire) are my fave three. Pyramid Hef on tap doesn't taste too different from Blue Moon.
When I was in Australia I tried a lot of great beers. In New Zealand I went to the Speights Brewer and they had good beer too.

I am exactly 21 miles due east from their main office (and original brewery). Just thought I would share that fact.
