When i read this i was happy that one of the maloof's priority for next season is having a good big man's coach. Having one would make it easier for Spencer,Shelden and maybe a bigman from the draft to develop much quicker.

Who do you guys think would be a good fit for a kings big man's coach for our youngsters and who is more attainable?

Yes, we'll definitely need to get a big man coach... I also began to realize this, recently.

Bill Cartwright comes to mind as a possibility from the Nets. If he wants to do something elsewhere.

Sure there are others out there who aren't in the NBA, or will be looking to advance up in a position, or focus on something else.

Great job to bring this up by the Maloofs.

That was a good interview. Douby's 2nd half of the season has been a real disappointment. I thought with Bibby being traded he'd be the team's full time backup guard but AJ has gotten the role. This offseason will be crucial to Douby's development. The talent and ability is there both offensively and defensively, but his basketball IQ is really holding him back. I think he needs coaches to really work with him daily to understand the game of basketball and his role on the team.

We should hire Divac. Seriously... Spencer wont be a powerhouse banger, but can be that finesse player liek Divac.

Where is Vlade anyway? I would love to see him as assistant coach or one of the staff at least.

I don't want him then, what he's doing is more important.

I wonder if CWeb is interested in getting into coaching now that he's officially retired and some spends time in Sac area. I like the Vlade and Cartwright suggestions as well.

Yeah I think C-Webb is the way to go here. I remember he said he was interested in getting into coaching and/or GMing now that his career is over. He could help Spencer and Shelden a lot.

The impression I've gotten from Chris is that he doesn't really want to do that right away, so I don't know if he would do it this year. But I'd love to have.

Hmmm.....well maybe if McHale finally gets the ax in Minny he'd be interested in doing something like that.

Chris will probably want to be a commentator first like charles and kenny and he is actually knowlegable at that.

Mchale wouldn't be bad as well as long as he stays away from whispering to petrie and the maloofs about making the right decisions for the team.

This team's bigs have basically sucked since Wayne Cooper retired.

Seriously - as a big man coach you do not need a former all-star or superstar player. What you really need is a former NBA big man who had solid fundamental big skills (i.e. - footwork; defensive positioning and box-out skills; timing on shot blocking; etc.) that a young big like Spencer or Shelden really need to learn immediately not try to pick up later.

I'd love to see somebody like a Rick Mahorn here as the big man coach - because he also would preach toughness aspect of making a living in the NBA paint.

I adore the Rick Mahorn idea, also... radio guy for Pistons, but maybe he'd be into doing that.

Trying to get Horace Grant would be really nice

I'd say Charles Oakley, but I doubt he'd be into it with what else he has going on now, and seems to be happy with things.
