Ever since the Kings got rid of the black and leaned more towards purple things have gone down.
I go to a lot of Kings games.
I think a lot of things need to change with the Kings and at Arco Arena.
Bring back the black and lose the gold.
Get rid of Big Mike the pregame emcee/hype man. He's extremely annoying and sloppy on the mic.
There's times where he makes me squirm in my seat and embarassed I'm there. It's cool they make it about the kids, but don't force it down our throats. This is a place of entertainment for both kids and adults, not Teletubbies/Barney/Sesame Street time. Most of these kids aren't paying for their tickets. Gear the attention towards adults with some kids stuff peppered in. No kids are gonna buy season tickets anytime soon.
Actually Big Mike is probably my number 1 thing I can't stand about going to the game. Lose him. He's a dork. Sacramento can do better than this.
While we're at it let's lose Reynolds and Napear too. In fact let's execute them in front of the kids at halftime while Big Mike is forced to host it and then when they're done a cage will come down and Big Mike will fight Kenny Thomas to the death. We'll either lose the worse hype man possibly in the NBA or lose one of the worst contracts west of New York. The crowd will eat it up.
The Kings need a fresh start. I really pull for this franchise to turn it around.
I've always had strong opinions about how the Kings should be run. If things had went my way. Artest would have been a King in 2003 and Webber's contract would have expired after this season. I love the Bibby trade, but Shelden Williams? Ouch.
Arco needs a new energy. It just doesn't feel too good in there. This team isn't that bad. Kevin Martin is a good start. Artest, Salmons, and Moore are nice pieces. If things are done right this team can be turned around.

Eh, even though Grant and Reynolds are annoying at times. They are still one of the best broadcasting crew in the NBA...
When you say "Artest would have been a King in 2003". Eh, if you are referring to the Peja/Artest trade rumors, you might have a point. But during that year, Peja was clearly a MVP candidate and was on FIRE ALL season long...And had a great %s (Almost historic) Eh, I could relate why that Petrie didnt pulled the trigger for Artest...Back then, Artest was really crazy...So, eh...
I didnt like the Webber trade...So, eh...
Bibby trade...Im split on it...IMO we should have kept Bibby because his contract was SO close to expire (Next year) and he will have the same situation as Jamison (A big valuable expiring).

Purple is like any good thing. Too much of it can be a bad thing. The purple jersey should be the alternate.
Blacks on the road and whites at home were perfectly acceptable.
Actually going back to a red/white/blue wouldn't be a completely bad idea. It worked for the Pistons going from Teal back to their original colors led them to 2 finals appearances and a championship. Plus the colors would match the seats in the arena again.
I do like the purple/black though. I think it just needs that more retro feel to it.
I say bring back the old logo, but update it with the purple/black.
Big Mike needs to be gone. Maybe he's not such a strain on others, but personally and I'm exaggerating he makes me sick. I just have to block him out and focus on the players and the game.
The Maloofs can do so much better in providing the ultimate NBA experience. I'm disappointed. I don't care if the Kings are a sub .500 team. You need that energy and excitement back in Arco.

I hoenstly dont know why you would want to get ride of him. I have been to other college/NBA games and they really dont have anything like Sacramento does. Big Mike adds a lot to the atmosphere. So, I rather keep him.

I actually love when he does that whole thing. It gets the crowded fired upmitchweber wrote:-= original quote snipped =-
The guy that walks around and acts like a tool at the games and somehow is given a microphone.
Actually, I think that his presence can be summed up in just a few words.
"BUT THIS! IS SACRAMENTO!!!!!"

I liked it the first couple of times, but it was probably the 57th or 58th time that I heard it that it started to get annoying. I think it works better at certain times, when it seems kind of improvised, not every single game--especially when the crowd doesn't really respond. Then it's really just depressing.

I'm sorry, but Big Mike adds nothing to the atmosphere. In fact I'd say he takes away from it.
Kings can do better than a fat, talentless, real life version of Peter Griffin. If you don't want him completely gone then he needs new material or less mic time.
Kings fans don't need to be fooled into getting loud for a game. Get rid of him. Let him hype up the crowd for the Monarchs.
His pregame show drives me to the bar for an overpriced alcoholic beverage.

I guess we agree to disagree. I do agree that he needs some new stuff, but there was a reason why he was the on court host for the All-Star game in Houston. After, attending many games around the NBA I think a lot of teams could use someone like him to make the game day experience better.
