I like him but if I like other players for us to draft can I still be on the DJ Augustin bandwagon?

If we were to go PG, not knowing whats going to happen with Beno, would you rather have DJ or one of the other PGs who mite be available(Collison, Lawson)?

He's alright. I wouldn't be kicking holes in the wall if we drafted him, but I really do think he is a later 1st type of prospect.

Really?!

What dont you like about him? He seems like a clone of Deron Williams to me.

Well, without the size that gives Deron so many advantages.

DJ. I don't like Collison or Lawson that much, but I think DJ will probably somewhere between Damon Stoudamire and Nash which is an odd comparison but he has size and quickness like Stoudamire, but he plays a lot like Nash IMO(one of the reasons is he trained with Nash at Nash's PG basketball camp last summer) with great passing and nice shooting.

Collison reminds me of Rafer Alston to be honest, not sure who Lawson is like. Poor man's TJ Ford? I dunno maybe he turns out better than that, like TJ Ford but he doesn't pass or shoot(which isn't even a strength of Ford) as well as Ford.

Their athletic capabilities and the style they play is similar. You do have a point.

Dj is the best pure point guard after Derrick Rose. He is a little undersized but I think he can adjust in the league. If we decided to take him then we can save some money not resigning Beno. But Id like to see us to draft Arthur, I think hes been overshadowed by that deep kansas team and has some real skills. Id say 1)Arthur or 2)Dj would be nice at the 12th pick(or where ever we're at). I think both are going to be very solid NBA players right away.

I didn't see much of Bayless, maybe 2 or 3 games, but he reminded me of a shoot first type point guard but definitely a better all around pg/prospect than Augustine. And Mayo just looks like an undersized 2 guard. So Dj was the second best pure point guard (pass first type) after Rose.

I see your point. I pictured him as more of a true PG in the NBA though.. He is taller but I think his skills are more of reular PGs style. I only watched a couple of his games, so I dont know him fully. Ive seen highlights and read a couple articles.

I'm NOT on Augustin bandwagon. I wouldn't be pissed if he was our pick, but I like Collison, Lawson pretty much any of the top 5-6 PG prospects better than Augustin. I think he'll be a marginally good PG in the NBA. Kinda a middle class Luke Ridnour.

Eh he's a better passer and shooter than Ridnour ever was. He's a better ball handler than any of the guys you have above(Ridnour, Collison, and Lawson). He can create his shot better than anyone you listed. He has better court vision than anyone you listed. He has better leadership than anyone you listed. Collison's D is good but it won't stand out on the NBA level because guys are going to be bigger than him like Rose(who actually did just as well against Collison as he did against Augustin). DJ is a better POINT GUARD, and player than any of the guys you listed. Sorry but he'll be better than any of those guys. Guarenteed.

I don't know Augustine but Ridnour is a very talented passer, he's physically weak and streaky shooter though.

Augustin's a pussy on defense and that's my biggest gripe with him.

He's not that bad. If you're going to say he's a pussy on D then how about Collison also? Rose f'ed him without lube too. But I'm glad you atleast came out and said why you dislike him.

And even if he's a crappy defender, he'll still be better than the guys you mentioned :P

Agustine's defense is not that bad. He is quick and averaged 1.5 steals last year. Better then Collison or Lawson.
