maybe this will get moved...but i read on yahoo, an article by matt buser, about fantasy impact from the draft. It says:
"Jason Thompson (F – Sacramento)
The Kings may have reached to fill their void at PF, but Thompson absolutely dominated at Rider, averaging 20.4 points, 12.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.7 blocks as a senior. Don't forget, Paul Millsap posted similarly huge stats at a similarly small school, and he's gone on to post 30-minute averages of 11.5 points, 8.3 boards, 1.3 steals and 1.4 blocks thus far in his NBA career."

I think milsap is a VERY good comparison. Just thought this was interesting because it is a valid comparison.

From what I have heard and seen Jason will be more of a Chris Bosh kind of guy. Jason is quicker and has better handles. I don't know if he will get 'Chris Bosh' numbers, but he is that kind of player. That's the best comparison that I can come up with.

Jason Thompson compares his game as Rasheed Wallace. His inside-out game is similar as Wallace. Not good of a perimeter shooter as Wallace but similar and effective.

At least Thompson's bigger and will be bigger mass-wise than Bosh...

Still, if he turns out to be Bosh defensively, that really would suck dirty carpet. I'd have significant disappointment if Thompson doesn't turn out to be a significant defender. I expect him to, though.

Well Sheed wasn't the outside shooter that he is now when he first entered the league. Regardless, I really like that comparison for him in many respects--although obviously his personality appears to be not like Sheed's at all.

Personality wise he's like Bosh but his game definitely appears ot be a more motivated Rasheed Wallace to me.

I see some Sheed and Aldridge in his game...

Lets hope he tunrs out as good as some of those comparisons. The package is there he just has to work

The best comparison in my opinion would be Joe Smith with a better post game.

I see some of that, but I think he's bigger than Joe and probably a better passer.

Has anyone brought up the fact that Thompson went up against Beasley early in the season and put up 24/7/3 (9-14 FGs), 4 blocks, & 2 steals while limiting Beasley to a mere 13 & 10 (WELL under Beasley's season averages of 26/12)

Shelden Williams has a big forehead.

How about Webb? I think that was Petrie's intent Divac/Webber=Hawes/Thompson. Hope it turns out that way.

That's pretty idealistic. I'm really trying to not get my hopes up for something like that. But the homeristic "omg all of our young players are going to be teh awesomes!!!" fanboy in me seems to be taking over at the moment.

I'd compare him more to Juwan Howard. Millsap is not a good comparison.

Other than his mid-range jumpshot I don't get the Juwan Howard impression. Not sure how good of a passer Juwan was.

I don't think he'll be as good as Juwan. He's obviously not as polished as he was out of college, he doesn't have his post game/footwork, but size wise, mid J, guard skills, and athleticism. I think it fits. Thompson probably projects as a better shot blocker than Howard though.
