Hi guys,
Just a fan of another team wanting to get a scouting report on Francisco Garcia. Statistically he's a bit one dimensional, but I've always been impressed by him in the few times I've seen him. How is he defensively? What sort of offensive style does he have (shooter, slasher, post, mix of all things, etc.)?
Thanks!

Re: Tell Me About Garcia
He's a good defender, stays in front of his man, plays with a lot of energy on both ends, active in shot blocking, offensively, he's a good spot up shooter, not as good off the dribble which makes his mid range game limited, excellent ball handler, can find cutters and shooters occasionally, but is not a PG replacement as far as controlling pace and running offense as he can get excited easily and play out of control, slashes and moves w/o the ball well, and with his ball handling can get to the rim, although his lay up finishing accuracy leaves something to be desired.
He's a good starter next to a dominant guard, and great of the bench, personally I'd hate to see him go.

I agree with SRV. I am not too sure what you mean (OP) when you say statistically he is 1 dimensional. Garcia is anything but 1 dimensional. He is the best shot blocker on the Kings, a good defender, can score, decent rebounder, and can play 3 positions (you wouldn't want him as your primary pg though). He plays with emotions, too much at times which is why he plays a little out of control at times. He plays with confidence at all times, never afraid to take the winning shot, doesn't make down to anyone, yet with all his confidence he doesn't have an ago. Meaning he plays hard as a starter and just as hard off the bench, whatever role is assigned to him he fills it 100% with no complaints. Garcia is very inconsistent. He looks like an all star one minute and then will turn around make a rookie mistake the next, that is the most frustrating part of his game IMO.

In addition to what SRV said........
He's natural position is at the 3 but can also perform reasonably well in the 1 & 2 spots also.
Garcia's one of these guys that while he's by no means untouchable, it would be very hard for another team to pry him away from Sacramento. This is especially true until Artest's situation is finally figured out.
He and Theus have a very good relationship and by all accounts he's a solid character guy as well.

I meant that he didn't see as if he was too all-around in terms of points, rebounds, and assists. He's only averaging 3 rebounds and under two assists, which is why I said that. Stats can be deceiving though, and you're right when you add things like defense it makes my statement about him being one dimensional false.
