All-Time Kings

Post#1 » by BillyHoyle » Wed Aug 6, 2008 5:20 pm

if you could select an All-Time Kings starting 5, (don't focus only on numbers but on "team-chemistry" as well), how would it look like?

Is this limited to only in Sacramento era? Or it for the whole franchise history? Like Kansas City and etc?

you can go back as far back in history as you want to - my question wasn't about the city but the franchise.

Oh. But kinda be specific because when you say All-Time Kings. We assume (Well, me at least) thought you meant for Sacramento era. Because we had a name change from Royals to Kings. You should have have said "All-Time Franchise Team" or something like that.

Well, this is what I would assemble:

Oscar/Archibald/Theus/Bibby
Richmond/Twyman/Martin
Stokes/Artest/Peja
Webber/Lucas
Divac/Lacey/Miller

Well, to be honest I did this list kinda fast. But it seems that it could be compatible and ideal.

That looks about right to me, however I would want to squeeze the L-Train in there somewhere. I know his career was short but he was one of my favorites.

I am a pretty new kings fan so i only really know sactown players.

PG: Oscar/BJax
SG: Martin/Christie
SF: Artest/Peja
PF: Webber
C: Divac/Hawes

Note: this isnt the most talented, it is just a combination of players that i like and-or what sort of team i would put together.
I would need a defensive PF to come off the bench and not so sure about BJax coming off the bench at PG, but that team would be awesome together.
I would like a defensive PG and PF to put on the secondary and that squad would have excellent scoring and good defence.
Help me out with the areas that i need

^^^^

I like that. It is basically replacing Martin with Christie on our old team. I wonder if that could have gotten us over the hump?

No, it would've been a bad fit. More talent doesn't always mean a better team. Doug fit his role with us perfectly.

With Martin it would have been EXTREMELY hard to defend us as is. The floor would have been so wide open, but we did have a Martinesque player in Jimmy Jackson and he played a limited role. Some thought Jackson should have started but at the end of the day Doug was the guy for this system.
