Just over a week until training camp, so here's a predictions thread.
Beno/Bobby Brown
Martin/Douby
Garcia/Greene
Thompson/Shelden
Hawes
That's our young core as of right now. Who pans out? Who will be in our future plans? Who will be a bust?
Personally, I think that Beno/Martin/Thompson/Hawes will all live up to expectations (Martin, to an extent, already has). Garcia I think has peaked and will be a nice sixth man. I really don't see Douby or Shelden in our future plans at all, their roles on this team are too easily replaceable when we need to. Greene is an enigma, he's got the most potential on this team but also the highest bust factor.

I don't think Douby in the long term future of the Kings. I think he could have a solid career, but I don't see him as a great fit here.
Of all the preposterous assumptions of humanity over humanity, nothing exceeds most of the criticisms made on the habits of the poor by the well-housed, well-warmed, and well-fed.

Re: Who will pan out/Who won't
Douby = GARBAGE and I can't picture Shelden becoming anything more than "solid".
I don't know anything about Greene. I do think he has too many e's in his name though... Thompson much the same, but his name looks alright so maybe he's one up on Greene.
Who the heck is Bobby Brown?
Hawes should be alright and I think Martin/Garcia have pretty much peaked in their potential. The only thing they work on is getting that experience so they can make smarter, more veteran decisions on the court. Garcia I noticed made some some good strides last season in terms of that and I hope he does even more so this season.
Beno has always been good, he's just never had the opportunity to showcase it. It'll appear like he's improving but in reality it's just him getting more playing time.

Re: Who will pan out/Who won't
I think Shelden Williams can be a special big guy. David West had similar slow first and second years, and blossomed in his third. Shelden also sucked in his first 2 years until he developed into a (21/11/4 block monster at Duke). Give this guy time and he will produce. The guy was the key to the last really good Duke final 4 team. If this guy has Miller's back this team is suddenly a playoff team again. I think it will be better for Hawes, Greene, and Thompson development to let them work their way in also, and will all be big scorers. Don't knock fat guys. Al Jefferson, Charles Barkley, Zach Randolph, Sean May, Kevin Love, all big guys who can play. Carmelo Anthony and Lebron are a little on the chunky side. I would take fat dude who could play over any fit average guy like Luke Walton.I just want difference makers. Hawes will be a great offensive guy, but only solid on d. Thompson will be better on both sides and want him developed. Greene will be a scorer. This team is loaded with scorers tehir big weak spot was d. Artest and Moore together equalled Brad Miller in blocks, and if Shelden can average 2+ blocks this team becomes very good.

Calling Lebron chunky at all is insane. He weighs a lot for his height, but it's all muscle.

I think Douby is going to be fine with or without the kings, because He shot the ball tremendously well, and we always know that he can get to the basket. He has created a niche for himself defensively in being able to defend, he just needs to get consistent minutes and play his neutral position, He's going to have his rough spots and needs to put up some weight, bulk to his frame and hopes more consistent play means more consistent scoring production.....
Will he stay with the kings or will he go? i think thats a whole different discussion.

Must be true, if it's a rumor you read on Hoopshype.
