Should be interesting to see how Ron plays the game. I wonder if he'll guard Kevin. I always thought that his biggest weakness as a defender was guarding guys like Kev that he really had to chase around the floor.
But neither will likely play a ton of minutes, so I'm more just looking forward to seeing our young guys play, as with any preseason game.

Salmons hasn't been impressive at all in preseason. Hopefully its just a slump, but IMO it doesn't seem like he put in work this summer. Knowing that the starting role was his and that he's probably the Kings 2nd or 3rd best player he should've dedicated his self over the offseason and worked on his speed, strength, athleticism and outside shot.

I'm starting to believe that we are the worst team in the league.
EDIT: Ok, maybe not the worst, but when Martin struggles, we look terrible.

Oh come on, this is Houston we're talking about. They're a legitimate title contender this year, including the best defense in the entire league. You didn't think the new offense would have it's hiccups against them? I'd be encouraged that we lit them up in the third quarter. Start worrying when we can't score against the likes of New Jersey, or OKC or Minny.
Our bench continues to turn it over at an astronomical rate, but I'd pin that on youth. They will get more experienced together this year, we'll take our lumps, but every year from now in the future it'll be worth it. Though they have to get playing time.
Though I wonder why Reggie didn't put Jason Thompson on Ron. I think he would have been more effective than John.

Well, that was two teams in completely different phases of the preseason. The Rockets nearing the end of theres and the Kings stuck in the middle of theirs.
Overall I liked how Reggie finally gave the young players some substantial minutes down the stretch. The only way they will get a rhythm is by getting minutes.

Most of their starters weren't even playing when we started to come back in the 3rd quarter...and they didn't even have McGrady...I don't even think Artest played in the 2nd half, either.

I see Ron had probably his best game of the pre-season, nice

Either result in the regular season games between the two teams, I'll be pleased (because of Ron obviously, my guy Chuck Hayes (who is an underrated passer), Battier, Deke, and Dorsey if he plays)
Not worried about Salmons form yet, being pre-season and the numerous different factors that come with that. He really should be better as the reg. season gets going a bit - if not, Reggie definitely needs to give him a talk.

Just like every other game. Moore-Hawes frontline leads the Kings to down through the first quarter down by 5. Williams-Thompson enters for them in the second quarter and comes out when game is tied against the best frontline in the NBA who have played most of the minutes. The Hawes-Thompson frontline takes the Kings to a 7 point lead late at the end of the 2nd quarter. Key to the successful 1st half against the Yao-Scola-Artest, a dominant 2nd quarter with no MM (I know big surprise). There was even a Williams-Hawes-Thompson for a few few minutes. Some very impressive minutes by the big guys (except MM's 1 rebound in a quarter)

After taking Moore out when he led them to a 5 point lead for the Rockets. Reggie starts him with a 7 point lead. Hawes looks fantastic tonight 17/11/3 early in the second quarter. Moore still looking for that tricky 2nd rebound in 15 minute, there it is at min 19, even a 3rd rebound, MM is on fire (6/3 in 20min) . Hawes has 21/13 in 26 min. I knew he could do it, Mikki has given up the 7 point lead. He must have naked pictures of Theus. Moore leaves to a tied game. Theus kicks Shelden in the n**** by bringing in Kenny Thomas for Hawes not Moore. When Moore has been on the court the Kings are down 12 points, with Shelden up 5. Hawes looks great 23/14 in 29min, but may sprain his back carrying Mikki. Kenny has the Kings down 6 already. More to come.

I'm sorry Mikki did not come out so now the Rockets are up 9. Making the Kings down 21 points with Moore in the game. Shelden comes in with the Kings down 9. Moore and Thompson stay in the game with Shelden. Shelden-Thompson have the Kings down 6 with 5 minutes left. Moore-Thompson come in for Shelden-Hawes and give Houston an 8 points lead. Kings down 6 with 2:38. Shelden gets to play 2 minutes in the 2nd half where the Kings are outscored 57-37 in the second half with the Kings being terrible on d. With Moore in the Kings the Kings were down 21 points. With Shelden in the game the Kings were up 9 point. Hawes was outstanding with 25/16/3assists in 40min. Shelden was very tough defensively with 6/2/2 in 12min (if Theus let him play 36 min would have been on pace for18/6/6. Shut up Shelden Haters!) Thomspon looked great 10/7 in 23 min (if he played 36 min would have had 15/10ish). Moore was a monster on the board with 7/3 in 26 min (a 10/5 if he palyed 36 min. Again this is the same story as the 2 games against Portland looked good with Shelden, pushed around with Mikki Moore (single handedly giving Kings a 21 points hole while in the game).
