He isn't a pg

He isn't a sg

He hasn't basketball IQ

He is one of most irritant players have ever seen in Kings jersey.

For me is a bust, cut him NOW.

Sorry for my bad english

When you're drafting in the 19th, the player you're drafting is more likely to be a bench player/journey man than be a starter.
Douby is a disappointment, given we knew we needed a PG, and there were 3 PGs available (2 of them are looking good) and we still picked him, but it's the price you pay when doing what Petrie does in the draft, which is going for high reward (and usually high risk) players, the is the same technique used in the Thompson pick, and no one is complaining about it.

I always thought Thompson was a safe pick.. a pick like Anthony Randolph or McGee would of been a high risk/reward IMO

Given he was #19, no, he's not a bust he's just a disapointment.

They were both stars of a small college programs, and both were picked 10+ places higher than projected.

Douby is only a disappoint in my eyes simply because we have the hindsight now of the players drafted after him. (Rondo, Farmer, Milsap, Powe, Gibson, Rodriguez)

Personally, I think after the Douby pick, Petrie became a bit more conservative with his drafting of Hawes and Thompson.

I think Douby is certainly a disappointment, but he only would have been a bust if we truly missed out on somebody who would have been a key part of our future without him. I don't think we did. Some would say Rondo, but many have said time and again that we need a really great PG on this team. Rondo is a really nice player, but he's not that. Plus, I could never in a million years see Geoff drafting a PG without a real jumper.

I remember clearly at draft night, that we were picking at #19. I was like "Eh, there wasn't really good players around this spot"...All of the sudden, Marcus Williams slipped out from the top 10 (Which he was considered the best pure PG in the draft) and was on table for the Kings selection So, I was like "No way! This is a no brainer. Pick him, Petrie! and I heard the words Quincy Douby. I was like -__-... Hmm, In Petrie I trust?"

Well, Williams hasn't really showed anything yet (Well, except his high assists totals in particulars months) and Douby hasn't really showed anything as well. But then again, both showed flashes but never materialized...

I did like Douby and still do but he is a disappointment.

I've been preaching that he's a bust since BEFORE we drafted him. People used to laugh at me for this, but they ain't laughin' no more.

He's a bust, even before this recent stretch of games. He was a bust the moment we stopped trying to convert him into a PG.

That being said, it was hardly a crippling pick. Just accept it was a miss and move on.

Still laughing'....you can't 'bust' as the #19 pick. You just can't.

That draft was TERRIBLE! Douby a bust? I don't know what his expectations were, everyone knew that was a horrible draft going in.

Eh, I think it was average, maybe slightly below average. It was 2000, that's for sure.

I seem to remember that you were absolutely ELATED that we drafted him, even praising the pick. Still feel that way Smills?

I would pretty strongly disagree with that. I mean if you look at the rankings of players...

06
1. Roy
2. Gay
3. Aldridge

Those are the clear top 3, but none of them are real superstars. And after them it's a clump of role players that are nice, but don't belong near the top of a draft class like Brewer, Rondo, Millsap, and Powe. Other than that, so far, it's a pretty weak class. 02-05 are all clearly stronger at the top IMO and are mostly deeper.

i thought that i was in the minority when it came to my opinion on Douby. Im happy to see though that most people feel the same way. I go crazy when he goes in because he always needs to take shots. I agree Thompson was a very ballsy choice, but it worked out well. If youre gonna gamble like petrie does youre gonna win some and lose some.
