Trade ID #4862283
Sacramento Trade Breakdown
Change in Team Outlook: -1.3 ppg, -2.2 rpg, and -0.1 apg.
Incoming Players
Patrick O'Bryant
7-0 C from Bradley
1.6 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 0.3 apg in 3.9 minutes
Sam Cassell
6-3 PG from Florida State
0.0 ppg, 0.0 rpg, 0.0 apg in 0.0 minutes
Brian Scalabrine
6-9 PF from USC
2.2 ppg, 0.7 rpg, 0.3 apg in 10.1 minutes
Outgoing Players
Mikki Moore
7-0 C from Nebraska
5.1 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 0.7 apg in 20.5 minutes
The kings free up PT for hawes and thompson which they can't do with moore around. Thompson's contribution is not that good if he plays less minutes. They are a young team who should already work around their young bigs who are contributing to boost their confidence. that would be benefitial in the long run. scal has a cheaper deal and they get salry relief at the end of the season.

The C's get their biggest need, a long Center who can play defense. Cassell will definitely get bought out and come back as a coach.

Yes they can. Jason and Spencer just have to play better than Mikki. Spencer is getting a lot of time because he is consistently and Jason is getting there.

No way could Moore fetch a player the likes of a Brian Scalabrine. Just no way. He'd have to up his averages to at least 6 ppg, 5 rpg, and 3.5 "And 1!"s for Boston to even consider this one.

That and Theus finally realized what that sharp burning pain on his ass was.

but if they don't play moore as much, wouldn't it be waste of money for them?

So should we play Kenny Thomas more? This is the main problem with the NBA....GUARANTEED contracts...only the elite elites should have any semblance of PARTIALLY guaranteed money. NBA needs to move to an NFL mode when it comes to contract negotiations. Noone should be guaranteed ANYTHING it eliminates incentive.

Don't feel too bad about KT. The Yankees just guaranteed a 7 year $160mil contract to CC Sabathia. Shelden Williams feels like Mikki Moore standing next to CC. The biggest contract he was offered was for $100 mil from Milwaukee but the Yanks threw down $160 mil. Guaranteed. Also at least he is not out going on vacation during the season like Marbury. How stupid are the people in New York? I think the teams like Miami and San Antonio who want Marbury are trying to blow things up so NY will release him. They just should have suspended him with pay like the Pacers did with Tinsley.

I'm surprised that no one's mentioned that the Kings would have to cut one guy from the current roster to make this trade work. So who do we cut? The only reasonable options are Kenny, Shelden, & Douby. But you know the team isn't going to cut those guys for obvious reasons (for each 1); especially when the reason for the trade is "creating more minutes for ____".
Poorly thought out trade.

Moore is 7 feet tall and plays good D against all but the bruisers of the league. He also hits the little 15 foot J. The Kings might as well keep him and let him expire, unless he is included in a deal that brings in a valuable player.
