First Trade: Kings-Miami
Outgoing Kings:
Beno
Miller
Houston 1st (lotto protected)

Outgoing Miami:
Marion
Chalmers

Maybe add Shelden Williams for Dorrell Wright.

Second Trade: Kings-Bulls-Trade cannot be completed till Jan. 1st per Gordon's contract status
Outgoing Kings:
John Salmons
Mikki Moore

Outgoing Bulls:
Ben Gordon
Tyrus Thomas

New Kings Roster:
Chalmers/Brown/Jackson
Martin/Gordon/Cisco/Marion/Douby
Thompson/Greene/Thomas/Hawes/Williams

The Kings will be a younger more athletic team with this roster. The Kings will also have the luxury of being well under the cap, as Marion, Gordon, Thomas will come off the books. It will also give the Kings a half season to determine if they would want to resign Gordon/Thomas.
As a Kings fan I have come to the resolution that we are not a free agent destination. Our team is lacking a star player (Kevin Martin is not a star player, he is a very good player),IE: Duncan, Howard, deron, etc. We are going to have to draft our star player and this will bring our rebuilding process to the forefront.

We need to keep the following players:

Martin, Salmons, Hawes, Garcia, Thompson, B.Brown, BJax

We need to get rid of the following players someway or another:

Miller, Moore, Beno, Sheldon, Douby, Thomas

I think we could get some young talent in exchange for Miller and Udrih. I would love to see Miller and Udrih traded to Miam for Chalmers and expirings. Not for Marion....we dont need him when we got Salmons and Garcia. NO WAY TRADE SALMONS. The guy plays D and scores and is way humble and a total class act.

Next years draft is weak. Trade that Houston pick with Thomas and Moore. Throw that pick in there for simpathy. We dont really need 2 first round picks, especially out of a crappy draft class. Plus we already have youth at every area of the lineup (Brown, Greene, Thompson, Hawes). But our #1 pick might end up OK. Maybe pick up Ty Lawson in the draft. He would fit well with our style.

BOOOOOZER! go after Boozer with everything we got. The guy is a 20/10 and we need that in the post. Just think of the Offense with Boozer, Martin, Salmons. All three could be around 20 a game. Plus he a solid rebounder which we need so badly. I know Sac is not the top destination of free agents but if we went big we could possibly get him. I mean...the dude plays for Utah, not so glamorous.

If only dreams came true:

Lawson/Chalmers/Brown
Martin/Garcia/BJax
Salmons/Garcia/Greene
Boozer/Thompson/Greene
Hawes/Thompson/FA (defensive specialist)

This lineup could compete for the 7th or 8th seed in the West next year. From there I am not so sure but atleast Sac will be somewhat a good/exciting/young team with a bright future.

I think we need to give Brown time to run the point before any trade so that we can find out what he brings. He was a 20/5 guy in college like Bibby. He played in the Euroleague last year and scored 44 in one game. I think we need to give him a shot he isn't hot and cold like Beno. When Beno is hot he is very good but when he is cold like last night he kills us. He is a better passer than you would think but he needs to pass a little better. I think it would be worth it to find out what we need in the draft. We already know we have to upgrade on Beno, might as well give Brown a chance.

Agreed on both trades actually. I know people seem down on Gordon, but I love Gordon, always have, and we would have some excellent scoring coming from the 4 & 5 positions.

And I also agree that we need to do whatever we can to get Boozer. But he seems unpredictable, as when he bolted from Cleveland and signed with Jazz. So who knows what he is going to do, but if we can get him, it could reinvent this franchise like when we got Webber. (I'm not saying Boozer is Webber mind you)

No way Miami does the first deal. Chalmers is the future at PG for them and for good reason. He was a steal in the draft and he's a perfect fit next to Wade.

I don't think I'd do the second deal--at least not unless Geoff saw something in Tyrus and had a real urge to keep him long term. Otherwise it's basically just dumping Salmons for nothing, which isn't at all worth it.

B. Brown is nice! I don't think we should let go of him at all as I don't know what his ceiling is? He has the athletic ability, but he hasn't played enough to say he'll be this or that yet. He can shoot and he seems to take decent care of the ball. The rest...who knows. Who knew he'd be this good?

As far as Gordon/Thomas:

If we sign those guys just to let them go, then what's the point? As you said this isn't a free agent destination (I disagree if we're winning) so I don't get the point you're making. Gordon and Thomas aren't going to be anything special in this league, and I'd argue that Salmons and Moore are a better combo than Gordon and Thomas. We'd drop salary a year earlier, but I still want to watch the team.

My point is (and has been) if this franchise has a chance at rebuilding they cannot build around Kevin Martin. We need a superstar player in the worst way, and that super needs to be a point guard if we want to keep the team we have right now. Do we get one in the draft, or do we trade for one I don't know? I'm interested in Brandon Jennings just because he is playing pro basketball right now. He's not lighting it up in Italy, but he's learning. Everything I've read suggests he's the real deal. Without doing anything major we'd have:

Jennings*
Martin
Green
Thompson
Hawes

I can't say we will play any defense, but I can see the exciting Kings back again! I think if we just get something like that, and then retool (like when we made the moves for Bibby, Miller, BJax, etc) on the fly I think we'd be at least an annual 5-8 seed in about three years.

*I'm making assumptions that Jennings will be the real deal.

Hey Guys...
I am a new poster but have been fan of this site for a while!
Around the NBA, the Kings' talent is completely underrated!
Although Kevin Martin is a great player... he is NOT a #1 Option!
If we can make Martin the #2 Option, Imagine the damage we can do!
Can you name 3 Team whose #2 Option is better than Martin? NO!
I'm not sure where we can get that Star player but here is my ideal situation:

First of all, Beno is NOT the starter we hoped he would be!
Nor do I think he has the ability to be the energetic bench player we need!
Try and trade Beno to a contending team around the trade deadline for a prospect or pick!
But I believe that Bobby Brown could be the longterm backup PG!
I hope with our top 5 pick in 2009, we can draft a top tier point guard in Jennings or Lawson!
I like Jennings because he is maturing and has that explosive factor to him!
I like Lawson because he can lead the team with his great shot, passing, and DEFENSE!
I'm not too sold on Rubio for our team, because he is only 18 years old + he doesnt have as much upside or athleticism as the other 2!

Kevin Martin is a great SG but not a go-to guy!
I like the thought of him starting with Francisco coming off the bench as our 6th man!

This may be controversial but I believe that John Salmons should be on the way out!
I love John Salmons and believe he is a fantastic player but doesnt seem to fit the mold of this team!
I am not sure if the Magic would accept this but Hedo comes to mind as the ideal SF!
Salmons/Moore for Hedo/Battie! Might Work Pluse I Don't See Mikki wit us for long!
Donte Greene has shown sparks as a great SF but time will only tell!

Whoever doubted Petrie when he drafted Thompson, don't make that mistake again ;)!
Thompson deserves to start right now! With his postup moves + hustle he will go far!
With our Second 1st Round Pick in 2009, We must get a Big man!
I can see Hansbrough being available at early 20's! What you think???

While Miller is NOT in our longterm plans, we should keep him until his contract runs out UNLESS we find a trade we can not refuse!
Hawes is, well Hawesome, and he already looks better than Miller but Miller can teach Hawes some things that could turn Hawes into an All-Star Center!
Do NOT Resign Douby, Thomas, Miller, Williams and only sign B-Jax if for league min!

Future Depth Chart:
PG: Jennings or Lawson/Brown/B-Jax?
SG: K-Mart/Cisco
SF: Hedo/ Greene
PF: Thompson/Hansbrough/Battie
C: Hawes/ Miller

What do you think? Realistic? Wise? Opinions?
