had the punch landed two things would have happened to help this franchise; Brad Miller would not be playing in the NBA anymore which means that he would have not signed with the Kings, and Shaq would have been suspended for the rest of the season, hence WCF series against the Laker would not have happened and the Kings would have had a championship... think about it... only a a few centimeters would have had a positive effect on the Kings in 2002 and beyond.... maybe even Webber wouldn't have had his knee going **** afterward as well.
discuss.

Shaq wouldn't have been suspended for the whole year. He would have been out for a while, but he would have made it back in time to be fresh for the playoffs.
And I especially fail to see how it would affect Chris's knee.

Wewll, the Webber knee thing was a joke, but I dont understand how a punch that can comatose a person wont warrant a full season suspension at least!

I was watching that live when it happened. I always thought it was so funny because Oakley was the one that leveled Shaq, not Brad. Yet you didn't see Shaq going after Oakley, hahaha.
And Shaq is very lucky he didn't connect, not because of the damage he would have done to Brad, but because he would have most likely broken every finger on his own hand. He was coming down with all of his upper knuckles exposed and while it would most likely have hurt Brad, Shaq actually might have gotten the worst of it. The top of someones head will win every time against somebody's knuckles with a half clenched fist.

The only thing that I know of in recent memory that caused a player to be suspended for a full season was when a player literally went up into the stands and attacked a fan. Players punching each other usually results in a 30-game suspension at most, and I have to think that the power of said punch can't really be too relevant, since that's mostly dependent on strength.

Shaq is as bad as throwing punches as he is at making free throws! Oakely clobbered both Shaq and Miller, turning Miller around which probably saved Brad from some serious pain. That punch was headed for Miller's head or spine, which could've really messed him up. Shaq is a thug and stuff like that why the NBA struggles to find more fans.
I will say that Christie can throw a punch better than Shaq though

Re: What could have been...
If that punch of Shaq had delivered, it would have been bad, but no Kermit Washington bad. Miller was walking away, and Miller is a big guy... this wasn't a small guard running into a big man's punch.
Reguardless... how was this Millers fault, and how would it have kicked him out of the league? o_O

I bet Shaq would have really messed up his wrist or hand. You can tell Shaq isn't much of a fighter.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved
