POR/SAC TRADE?
POR fan here, we could use a solid vet SF, rumors are Salmons is available. What are your needs? Guys like Sergio, Outlaw, Frye, Webster and out 1sr rdr are available. Sergio and Outlaw for Salmons as an opening gambit? we have 4 2nd rdrs as well.

Frankly I would do Bayless and filler like frye, but not a #1 pick as well, a couple 2nd rdrs yes. Some other Por fans would not want to see Bayless go.

Re: POR/SAC TRADE?
Bayless and #1 would be too much to ask for, IMO. I don't know if Portland is ready to give up on Bayless, anyways. I would be happy with Outlaw/Sergio/1st, though...but that might be asking for too much, as well.

Ok you can keep your picks, mainly the point would be for us to get Bayless. We need a point guard and I would give up Salmons to take a chance on Bayless. But I wouldn't do it for Sergio, I don't think Sergio will be very much of an upgrade from Beno, he can't beat out Blake (who has played well but I wouldn't trade Salmons for Blake either). I suppose when you throw Outlaw into the trade the Kings get pretty good value talent wise, but I don't think the Kings are interested in getting 2 solid players for 1 good player.

Re: POR/SAC TRADE?
The version of this that I posted on the trade board was:
Beno Udrih, & John Salmons
for
Steve Blake, Jerryd Bayless & Travis Outlaw
without the Blazers taking back less than ideal money from the Kings, imo the Blayers would get an absolute steal when it comes to getting Salmons that cheap. I think even with this, it's still a very good deal for Portland as Blake & Udrih have very similar overall numbers for the season.

Re: POR/SAC TRADE?
I'd be one happy Kings fan if we could land Bayless. I'm just not too excited about the upcoming draft. The only PG that I really like us to get is Jennings. Bayless is very physical and gets to basket at will. It might be wishful thinking, but hey, Petrie work your magic and get Bayless in SacTown. We certainly got the pieces, Salmons, 2 #1's in the '09 draft.
At the very least I traded for him in NBA2K9, JB's a beast lol.

I would rather replace Blake with a first but Im sure the contracts dont match up then.

^^ Beno/Salmons for Bayless/Outlaw/1st? No way Portland touches that. Outlaw/filler/1st for Salmons.

Re: POR/SAC TRADE?
That would be a pretty good deal for the Kings, but I doubt that Portland isn't looking to take any salary in 09.

At this point, trading Kenny Thomas is going to cost than holding on to him until at least the end of the season when he's an expiring.
If the Kings are going trade someone in order to improve there cap situation it should be Beno Udrih.

Re: POR/SAC TRADE?
I dont agree basics mostly because though beno is not doing much this season the value for beno is higher than k9's i would not just give him away just to get rid of him at this point on the other hand i would give k9 away for free !!!!!!!!!!!

Re: POR/SAC TRADE?
I understand that, however, we'd have to pay to get rid of K9 still but at the end of the season, his value jump significantly as an expiring contract, Beno's value isn't as likely to jump as easily without an on court improvement.

Re: POR/SAC TRADE?
Basics what your saying is true about k9's value being greater next year as an expiring is true however for us to use him as an expiring in a trade next year the odds are great he would be packaged for a disgruntled superstar player or a player who has a huge contract that does not fit in with its team more than likely that would be a veteran player !
I feel that would be pointless for the kings to do that type of situation we are clearly in a rebuilding & youth mode that leaves us in a situation were we do one of two things
A. trade k9,miller,moore,douby,williams now and get expirings, youth & picks for these guys
or
B. If any of the above mentioned guys are not dealt then we just let them expire out completely without any compansation at all thus giving us a large ammount of money to spend the following year in cap sapace.
Moore's contract is only partially guaranteed next year & Douby & Williams have no guarantee for next year thus the kings can just not resign them so those salaries would come off the books anyways .
Final thought as of now we have 14 players on our roster 15 under contract (rahiim still being paid though retired ) as it stands we have 2 1st round picks and 1 2nd round pick
with bobby j. expiring & the likelyhood of s.williams & douby not being resigned saying they are not traded if we kept all draft picks = 2 1st rounders & 1 2nd round then we are back to having a 14 player roster this would leave us 1 roster spot to sign a F/A if we choose to do so .
I think the bottom line is right now we will know alot more in reguards to our expiring contracts that end next year after the trade deadline this year this is when we will truly know if we will just let these guys expire out or not !KINGS 4 LIFE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I don't like Bayless. I like Batum a lot, but I assume he's not available considering how well he's playing. Something involving Koponen and a 1st would be nice.

Re: POR/SAC TRADE?
I'm not sure I see the Blazer's trading for Salmons. I just am unsure if they will actually pull the trigger to give up any of their young talent. Can't blame Sac for trying though.
Personally I'd like to see the Nuggets pick up Salmons. That could meaning dangling expiring deals. A first rounder. Kleiza. Possibly could see picking up Sheldon Williams too.
