What if the Kings do something horrible?

Sometimes teams make horrible signings just because they have capspace and are desperate to do something (ex: Hughes, Maggette).
Suppose the Kings trade Miller and/or KT for expirings somehow and we have capspace this offseason...and then Petrie/Maloofs do something horrible, like signing Allen Iverson to a 5 year, 70 million dollar deal.
What would you do?

Heads would roll, but honestly, MOST FA look good at the time, that's why you sign them.

Petrie is too smart, so this is a poor scenario. He will go after boozer or millsap (I hope we get millsap). If he doesn't get them, he'll probably make a trade similar to what LAC did where they find a team that needs cap space and take a player that we need. Or he would re-up guys or extend their contacts like he did this year when shareef retired and he extended garcia.
Petrie has a solid grasp of what he's doing. I don't always agree with him, but he isn't stupid.

I would realize it was a bad move. I'd realize Iverson's a poor fit, that he'd be overpaid, that he's past his prime and getting worse, and that he has no place on our current team.
I'd proudly walk around in a #3 Jersey like I'm tight.
I have always been an AI fan.

Don't get to excited about Milsap just yet. He is still an undersized 4 and NOT a 3 and you haven't seen what he can do WITHOUT a PG of Williams' caliber. Too often that is the kind of mistake signing that is made, of a guy who looks good where he is but doesn't work with what you have. We still don't have a real PG.
As far as the rest, if we were to dump salary and open up cap for '09, I'd just as soon see them sit on it and stink for one more year and another top 5 pick in 2010 and use the cap space then.

In which case there is really no reason to dump salary--other than to save money, of course.

how bout:
Udrih/Thomas for Wally Szczerbiak (expiring)
and:
Miller/Moore for Shawn Marion (expiring)
cleavland is looking for another guard
miami is looking to get rid of Marion
kings get roughly $30 million off the books

I really like Millsap, but why would you throw 7-8-9 million dollars his way(he's an RFA and you'd have to OVERPAY him to gain his services so the Jazz don't match)??? IMO Jason Thompson is a BIGGER version of Paul Millsap with a HIGHER ceiling. Just say no to Millsap, not because he's not good, he is, but rather it'd be money spent redundantly. JT + contract/age > Millsap + contract/age for our team.

Getting Milsap only makes sense for a MLE or smaller, and only if we don't get a PF in the draft.

You'd be better off throwing the money at Price. He helped keep Utah afloat w/both Williams and Boozer out.

Wait. Price? Ronnie Price?
Been there. Done that. (Even though, I disliked when we rescinded the QO from Price)

Oh, I'm taking a dump on Petries porch. Probably should now just for taking so damn long to get Miller out of here and chancing it with Artest. Depends on what the "horrible" thing is. If they go for broke on another player that doesn't fit what Petrie is trying to do then I'd count that. There are 3 FA's this summer I could see Petrie interested in and depending on the cost would be OK with him getting any of Odom, Hedo, and Ben Gordon. Maybe even Gooden since I know Petrie has been interested in the past and it's not like he'd cost much more than the MLE.
Now the problems I could see happening in my nightmares are as follows:
1. We get the #1 pick and instead of drafting somebody like Griffin, Monroe, or Harden he takes someone like Chase Budinger or Tyler Hansbrough! Not to knock Chase, I like him a lot and hope he falls to our Houston pick but take one of the obvious ones this time Geoff!!!
2. We draft freaking studs at both picks, make a trade for another serious piece and then the team moves to Seattle.....
