Well, this got ugly quickly. Our defense is really just amazingly bad.

^^Saying that they are playing "amazingly bad defense" just over-represents this team's play on the non-offensive side of the floor. I can't even use the word "defense" in connection to the Kings because that would suggest they even know what the concept of defense is.

Yeah...0-18 against the east this season, so far.
This makes me sad.

How are we still 0-18 against Eastern teams? This is getting ridiculous.

We might as well just call it 0-20 right now since our next 2 games are against Boston and the Cavs.
Of course I guess there's always a chance we win those games!

That's pretty sad. It wasn't that long ago that we were UNDEFEATED against the east - I guess that karma really is a bitch when it comes around.

How does JO always have big games against us? He didn't even play major minutes (came off the bench) and he was still able to get 10 rebounds in 20+ mins...blah

Jack Armstrong and Matt Devlin are good and popular in Toronto, your just not used to them + Jack knows who Brad Miller is and he just sounds like that because of his voice, Miller is a common name that most people can pronounce.

In regards to the defense let's say both players pan out to their potential....do you take Thabeet or Holiday to end/begin your commitment defense?
I just don't think Thabeet is going to be THAT guy. I'd personally pick Holiday because I think good defense STARTS at the PG positiona nd trickles down to the rest of the team. Waiting for the last line of defense is 2ndary.

Just watch us beat both the Cavs and Boston and then lose the rest of the season. It HAS been that kind of season.

Under those provisions, I take Thabeet easily. Perimeter defense is much harder to play then it used to be. You can really only count on it so much. If Thabeet reaches his potential, he'll be an absolute game-changer defensively. Potentially, he could be Mutombo caliber (of course, that's like peak, but if that's what we're talking about...). Ever since the hand check has been instituted the way it is now, there has not been one team with championship caliber defense without a strong defensive anchor. But teams J-Will, Fisher and Parker are all average defensive PGs at best.

If we are drafting around the 2-4 range. I think Thabeet should be high on everyone's draft board. Thabeet, this season, looks like a frkin defensive anchor. Hopefully, he can raise his game another level when he get to the NBA. A Thompson/Hawes/Thabeet frontcourt would be awesome.
Just lets say we are playing small ball (hypothetically) the lineup is:
Salmons
Martin
Thompson
Hawes
Thabeet

Everyone is 6'7''+ from PG to C. Mismatches are key for particular scenarios in the game.

I just can't imagine us drafting another young big without moving one of Hawes or Thompson. Everybody likes to think of a 3 young big rotation but it's just not very likely. All 3 guys will deserve a starting role and one of them would be dissapointed. If we do draft a guy like thabeet or monroe this summer we should look at moving one of spencer or jason for either another top pick or a great young PG.
I just think it's very unrealistic to think that we could run a young developing lineup with 3 potential starter bigs. However with the houston pick we could look into a role playing big that would be a good player off the bench and who would expect to be a role player.

Both are american like the other person said, but the guy who pronounces miller milla was born in Brooklyn.
They aren't the best announcers but the Jack (milla guy) is awesome, the other guy is new, first year.
