No Jason and Spence on either team

I'm a little surprised about that as well. I thought Hawes/Thompson had a decent chance getting into it. Especially, Hawes. Brooks over Hawes? I don't like it. We haven't have any representation in the All Star Weekend since 2004.

Hawes has disappeared since Natt became coach.

Thompson is too erratic to warrant being on the rookie team over some of the other players.


Our team sucks. Reason why we aren't in the All Star weekend. We don't have an allstar, our rookies are good but not great. We don't have an amazing shooter or freakish athleticism.

I think the NBA has completely forgotten about the Sacramento Kings...or at least they are trying hard to.

Marc Gasol, Kevin Durant, Jeff Green, Al Thornton, Russel Westbrook, Eric Gordon are all on BAD teams so you can't even use that argument.

Thompson and Hawes both deserved a spot, I understand if they didn't send them both but one of them NEEDED to be there. The NBA is just a bunch of political bulls**t and I'm sick of Sacramento getting screwed on a yearly basis.

The Kings killed both Hawes and JT by not recognizing after the first 5 games that this was going to suck and commit to 30 minutes and a starter for JT since he had such a hot start. And 25 minutes to Hawes off the bench every night (Mikki Moore 4 points a night be damned). The Maloofs started with kinda a rebuilding philosophy then switched immediatley after the crowd grumbled and they are still trying to win and not winning. This year has been so f'd up. The big positive Kings move was bringing back coachie they know which direction they need to go system wise. I just think they should have seen that having these guys play big consistant minutes would put people in the seats no matter the record. These 2 guys making the rookie and soph team would have brought some positive in a rough year. I do not think Miller needed to be traded we have way too much youth on this team already. I understand how bad basketball was here before the Maloofs. This is just a call they missed. Why should Hawes play more or Shelden be playing at all when you get outrebounded 25-49? The Maloofs have really screwed up the coaching thing giving us our 3rd rookie coach with rookie mistakes 3 years in a row. We need a vet coach who can run the Princeton and coach defense and rebounding. Eddie Jordan? I think bringing back Coachie said that they will get out of the way and let Petrie make the calls.

It doesn't change the shaft job that we are getting here. I have said - and maintain - that in the NBA you MUST pick one of their pre-anoited stars (or sign them) to have anything done for you at all. look at the way things changed when they brought Webber/Divac here. Instant positive media attention and notoriety. Even with Ron-Ron it was a kind of negative that was better than the NOTHING that goes now.
I say - trade away the mediocre role-playing vets. Tank the record for a top 3 pick so we can at least get a guy that the NBA wants to market (shoot, even TO has gotten attention over the past decade+ with vinsanity/Bosh), dump as much $$$$ as possible and maybe hold it until 2010 and even some til 2011 and sign MARQUEE names no matter HOW MUCH you have to overpay for them. It will take until then for our youngsters to develop and Kevin to be accorded the all-star status HE deserves for his incredibly efficient scoring.
It's really unfortunate though for both Jason and Spence, and I hope that they can use it as a positive motivator to strive to achieve the recognition that is not being accorded to their excellent development so far.

Brooks is more consistent and he showed the ability to take over games, in addition hes playing for a winning team, and I do think for the most part, a guy from a winning team will get the nod more often then not....

Certainly disappointing, especially when you consider if given playing time they would have most likely been locks. Oh well, one other possible positive down the drain.

Doesn't usually apply with the rook/soph game. No, it comes down to both not getting the minutes high end rookies are supposed to get on a team challenging for worst in the league, and their cities entire history. Never learn I guess.

Hawes got boned. No doubt, he deserved it more than thad young, brooks and chandler. BUT, I think that thompson shouldn't have been on the team. I mean look at the players on the team:
Beasley
Fernandez
Gasol
Gordon
Lopez
Mayo
Oden
Rose
Westbrook

All of those guys have better stats than thompson overall. Look at the PF/C. Beasley is scoring much more, plus he was the #2 pick... they won't not choose him. Gasol is scoring more with more boards per game, lopez is destroying, and oden is also doing better statistically.

I have seen what thompson can do, and I know that he has the talent to compete with those guys, but right now, I agree with the list. Plus, Love and speights are doing great as well, and they didn't get chosen, so this is one of those things where you just shrug and say better luck next year.

Heh, long time no see. Welcome back. (Even though, you were still here I think...)

Well, if he gets the nod because he was in a winning team, so what about the other players besides Hawes that played with horrible teams that got in? I still believe that Hawes should be at least backup for Horford or something.

I honestly believe Thompson got shafted. I don't give a crap about Gasol or Lopez; they won't turn out to be much better than they are right now, and Thompson shows us something new every freakin' game... whatever, let them bask in their glory while it lasts.

Hawes got shafted by Natt, so that's why he ain't playing. Too bad, because he would be just as beast as Thompson. The league just doesn't want Sacramento stealing the show.

The rookie class is soo deep that some rookies are gonna be left off even though they would of made it in another year, like Chalmers, Augustine, Love, Thompson, Hill.. So you can't really complain because everyone chosen can make a case that they deserved it

And Hawes.. he didn't deserve it.. He just disappear all of a sudden and even if he was to take Brooks spot, that would mean the Soph would have only 1 guard.. But Horford is still hurt (i think) so Hawes still may have a chance

Thompson should have been in over Gordon. We also got screwed in the years Francisco and Martin were eligible to play.

Since hawes has not played well lately I can see him missing the roster. But at the same time JT has played great in january. I'm pissed not to see a king anywhere in the allstar weekend again.

on the Rookie side who got screwed the most? I think Kevin Love and Jason Thompson, but really when you look at it who do you take out?? I say Greg Oden made it just because he IS Greg Oden, nothing else. He is my deffinite pick that should be out of the game, and as far as Eric Gordon goes? he IS playing really well, but the team already has Rose, Westbrook, Fernandez, Mayo at the guard positions so I deffinitely think Love AND Thompson should have been there, only ONE forward playing (deservingly so, Beasley). MArio Chalmers deserves a spot as well, but just not enough spaces.

As for the sophomores... Ramon Sessions, Spencer Hawes should be in instead of Brooks and Scola... simple as that.
