While the Kings-Bulls-Blazers trade is not fully completed and approved by the league, it’s pretty much all but done - so what we’re going to do here is take a look at the financial situation and how it hurts, err, helps the Kings this coming off-season.
After adding in the contract of Andres Nocioni, the Kings will be on the hook for ABOUT 43 million dollars next year (this figure takes into consideration that the Kings buy out Mikki Moore for two million dollars, removes Abdur-Rahim’s cap figure, as well as not extending the qualifying offer to Ike Diogu). Then you will need to add in two first round picks, as well as a second round pick. So, add about 6-7 million dollars to the figure, which results in about 49-50 million dollars.
The current NBA salary cap is at 58,600,000 - however, with the current economical issues, and teams shedding salaries, this figure is expected to stay in the same range, and possibly even drop.
So, in simple terms, the Kings will have 11-12 players under contract (assuming they exercise the team option on Bobby Brown and sign their picks) in the range of 49-50 million dollars for this coming off-season, assuming again, Moore is bought out et al.
What does that mean for us?
Well - assuming the cap stays put, we’re looking at a possible range of 9 million dollars or so to spend this off-season, or less if the cap drops.
I’ve updated the Kings cap #’s here, and granted, these are not totally 100% solid yet as the final details of the trade have yet to come through, but as rumored - this is what our cap situation looks like:

Kings Total Salaries (with included Top 5 draft pick and other pick salaries) as it currently stands for next year - About 49-50 million
Available Cap Space - About 9-10 million assuming the cap stays at 58-59 million
