Brief Conversation with Jerry Reynolds

I was at the Kings Hawks tilt and before the game I had a chance to talk with Jerry Reynolds. I asked him if we should as Kings fans even entertain the notion of getting attached to Gooden. He said with a laugh, no i wouldn't think so. Barring a great end of the season, will Gooden be let go despite his Maloof ties? ...I dont mind JT playing the 3 again with Noci spellng and having all three bigs in the lineup. Also, I asked Jerry how this helps since we have 0% chance of landing any of the top '10 FA's. He said that a sign and trade is the most likely scenario to get us back to the top tier. I asked if that meant Booz (09) and he said that they've been looking at that situation carefully because no one can give the marquee players more money than their current teams, so a sign and trade makes the most sense for us (I assume with our volatile personnel and coaching situations apparently FAs dont like to walk into the eye of a storm, not many looking to turn a team around, looking to get 1 over the top)...Coach Brown told me that he's really looking forward to coaching Noci and everyone in the organization is really happy to get some toughness back. Also, seeing Mike before the game with Kev and the others made me nostalgic. He looked so happy to be in Sacto...and wearing the away uni. Cheers to Jerry for taking the time, despite our record it was a thrill of a lifetime for me to talk personnel with our director of and one my heroes.

Good stuff!
I think it makes sense what we are doing as a franchise now.

I've always liked Jerry...he really knows his stuff and is just one hell of a likable guy. Sure he comes off as a goof. But that doesn't change the facts that he's one smart guy when it comes to this team and basketball in general.

I saw him running one day. I pulled over abruptly, and he looked frightened for a second. I yelled HEY JERRY, and he smiled and say hey back. Also when my friend had season tix, Id say hi to him every game, he unlike Grant, always said hi back

Yeah, I like him as an announcer. Sure, he can say things that can make you say "What are you smoking, Jerry?" But he is really, really knowledgeable compared to other announcers. He is has a good understanding of where the team is at. I like his nature overall. Goof ball with knowlege/logic. But Grant in the other hand, is somewhat arrogant (he seems to have two sides. One being decent in terms of attitude in Kings broadcasting and the other being merciless in his radio show. I remember he just going crazy on several callers and being a douche bag.) But Grant does has his times (consistently) knows what is happening and calls it the way it is. Grant/Jerry compliments one another. I think that is why our announcers are one of the best in the L.

I like Jerry a lot, but my favorite Kings commintator is Gerry Gerald. He's da best announcer out of the three, and I would love to see Grant sacked and Gerry/Jerry team up.

I did have a chance to meet Gman as well but nothing more than telling him Ive been listening to him for years. Also, I second the idea to sack Napear, although he didnt know it, and could care less about it, I purposely avoided meeting him. In my small world, Ive delt Napear the humboldtkingsfan snub and it feels great to do my part! Lets replace the fire petrie thread with a fire Napear one instead. Im just sayin, if we are cutting costs how much is his cap number? haha. Final thought, Buckets was cool as hell too, Dominique was weak sauce.

The "G-Man" is Gary Gerald and not Jerry Reynolds.
You could be talking about Gary Gerald (who does the radio broadcasts) though...

Thanks for telling us man. Jerry's always been cool, and it's interesting that we're looking at a S&T for a player like Boozer. That'd be cool as hell.

I know who GMan is, I should have said I met both he and Jerry seperately at the same game. Gary just a quick minute and a pic but Jerry I and I had a much longer conversation.

The Kings announcers are great. Most of the other announcers piss me off. I can't stand the Celtics' announcers.
