Good to finally see a win yesterday. I'm all about the draft pick and the future but I always like the see the Kings come out on top!

But, a tough game for the Kings on the second night of a back to back tonight:

Kings @ Mavericks 6 PM Pacific/8PM Central

We should see the new guys tonight, no? Here are the probable starters:

KINGS

No. Player Pos.

19 Beno Udrih PG
23 Kevin Martin SG
32 Francisco GarcĂa SF
34 Jason Thompson PF
31 Spencer Hawes C

MAVERICKS

No. Player Pos.

2 Jason Kidd PG
21 Antoine Wright SG
5 Josh Howard SF
41 Dirk Nowitzki PF
25 Erick Dampier C

I figured I might as well start a game thread...maybe we can steal one in Dallas. I must say they are my second favorite team to hate behind the Lakers.

a member on Kingsfans.com Purple Haze Said this - Lead Assistant Coach Rex K. just said on KHTK that four off six new Kings players are in uni, out warming up in Dallas.

Nocioni, Diogu, Simmons and Soloman ready to play tonight. Booth and McCants will join team when they return to Sac (Gooden out injured).

Should be a tough one tonight with a bunch of players that have never played together. Go Kings!

Yeah...giving up 30 in the first ain't going to get it done. I would love to use the excuse that the guys are tired from playing so many minutes last night short handed. But the Mavs are playing on the back side of back-to-back as well...so tired just don't cut it.

I don't have high hopes for the rest of the game.

I can't wait until everyone sees how terribly overpaid (and just downright terrible) Nocioni is.

Anyone making any kind of assessment of Nocioni based on his performance tonight is making a huge mistake. Nobody can fly into a new team and get thrown into the lineup with out practice and be expected to make any kind of contribution.

I don't care if he puts up 10-12 points for the rest of the season, he is NOT worth his contract.

Is just me or is Beno looking really good these last two games?

And let me say, not only is he not worth the contract, his contract is keeping us from getting a max FA in 09 or 10.

Your not even willing to see what hes got before you get all mad the trade was made hes part of this team. Now if hes putting 5-6pts per game complain all yu want but if he can rebound and help this team then let him. But your minds already made up hes not worth his contract Right??

He's not a star, and his contract is standing in the way from us getting a star in FA. He'll be a decent role player for us, but we don't need more role players...we need a star. Hopefully, we can get it in the draft, but Noci is TERRIBLE compared to a player like Salmons.

Brandon Bass is absolutely DESTROYING Nocioni.

Don't waste your breath...there are some guys around here who are still fantasizing over signing Boozer (who would be the worst possible FA signing for the Kings) or Marvin Williams. Nevermind that neither were/are anywhere close to reasonable expectations. They just want to point a finger of blame at whoever is on the roster they think would be a roadblock. If it wasn't Nocioni, it would be Kenny Thomas, or Garcia, or Beno. Hell, if Salmons was still on the roster they would blame his salary for being an impediment to signing their fantasy FA "star". Why accept reality when you can point a finger of blame towards someone.

I've never said I was interested in signing Boozer or Marvin Williams. But considering our MAJOR goal (which Petrie has said many times) was cap space in 2010...trading for Nocioni single handily destroyed that goal. I would have rather traded Salmons/Miller for pure cap space (expiring) than get back a player like Nocioni.

The scrubs owning us on offense, Brandon Bass, the ultimate scrub killing us.

Hmm...maybe we should have traded Salmons for Bass + Stackhouse... he is completely destroying our "front court".

This is pathetic! We're making Singleton look like freaking Lebron James.
