I have no link, but the guy at work next to me said the deal has been finalized and details will be released soon.
If there is a link post it, or if you see any info to the contrary post that, too.

I remember reading a couple weeks ago that the feasibility plan was scheduled for release by this Friday...I'm sure we'll see something by then. It's good to hear that the league is behind the plan, whatever it is (sign to the Maloofs that they don't get to complain).

It should be likely that this is true because the deadline of relocation of a team is coming close (March 1st?)
If so, thank god. It has been years that we are planning to get a new arena here. But my question is that how are we going to pay for it considering that the the public won't approve a tax increase?

I think the plan is the arena and the surrounding venues will pay for itself. I'm not sure.

Yeah, that should be one of a likely option to consider. But either way, it is good to hear positive news about the arena.

Before they do ANYTHING, they need to work on the freeway exit to Cal Expo. That is the worst part of the freeway and there is ALWAYS traffic there! I can't imagine now bad it would be with the Kings arena there...

Absolutely. Buissness 80 is a mess at all times of the day/night, I could only imagine having the traffic coming from after a kings game.

Think state fair

I don't really care about the traffic as I won't take bus80, but instead of a freeway exit there needs to be a train! It won't happen, but that would work.

Coming from north of sac (rocklin), there is really no other way to come from. Atleast with arco I could go baseline or 80.
Don't get me wrong I totally love the idea of a new arena there.

traffic is going to be hell but as long as we keep the Kings here Ill deal with it. Although it actually would have been really cool if they moved to Anaheim because Im moving there in a year.

I live in LA right now, and I would be furious if the team ever moved down here.

They will never move to LA, the Maloofs have to much love for Sactown and thats where there heart and soul is NOWHERE ELSE.
They are a very loyal family with a lot more value for their fans than finacial gains.
You can bank on that.
But Im glad to hear that the new Arena is on its way. Props.
This team with all the trades made and will be made and a new arena is going to be a top 10 team next year or in a couple of years.

Because I care far less about my own convenience than I do about Sacramento having a basketball team--specifically the Kings. If they moved elsewhere, I'm not sure I'd keep rooting for them--especially with the prospect of another team. I don't want another team, I want the Kings, and I want them to be home. Sacramento deserves a franchise, and I'd prefer not to let the only one we have go because we could maybe get another one. A new city would just feel wrong, and I would feel that the people of Sacramento were being cheated--that includes me.
I would feel like a part of my childhood was taken away, the same way that Sonics fans felt last year, or Browns fans felt when their team became the Baltimore Ravens. I guess I would say that having committed to the team since I can remember, I kind of feel like they're "my" team, and part of that is living Sacramento and being a native of Sacramento. If they moved, I would lose that, even if I lived in the town they moved in (which I wouldn't since Anaheim isn't LA).

Exactly.
The people from Sacramento supported this team since day 1. The people watched, experienced, cried, anger, happiness, and bleed purple over the Kings. Here is a quote from Chris Webber's father (IMO it would sum it up):
"Imagine you have a good relationship with your wife for 20 yrs or so and out of the blue she comes up to you and says 'we are going to get a divorce tomorrow'".
If the Maloofs moved the Kings, I will feel sold out and a back stab behind my back. It will not be the same. That is why I was really against the relocation of the Sonics. I just have to wonder what they were feeling when the news hit them.
But luckily, the alleged news proved otherwise. It's good to hear positive things from this bleak season.

AMEN mitch. I'd have easy access to Kings games too if they ever moved to Anaheim (half my family lives in LA), but that's not the point. It's the SACRAMENTO Kings. Screw Anaheim.
Get this arena deal DONE.

And of course, in a practical sense, a 3rd team in So Cal would just be absurd--especially in any place but San Diego.
