Not a complete surprise. Hopefully he'll find a spot on a contending team.

Too bad he couldn't take Kenny Thomas with him.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

That was the first thing I was thinking when I saw this. Thank God.

I can't believe Gooden would do that! He just basically guaranteed himself a MLE deal at best. I also think the Maloofs cheap skated themselves out of a legit option at PF. Bad deal both ways. Oh well, this better mean more Greene otherwise this is a pretty big loss talent wise.

It's hilarious to me. It's like every time Gooden gets traded to another team, the rights to Gooden4life gets put into the contract. I've been following this guy's posts for years (since he was in Cleveland) and it's quite possibly my favorite thing on the entire internet.

Part of me wants to bring Gooden back to Cleveland just so I can watch him cheer for the Cavs again.

Nothing, it just means either Gooden really didn't want to be here, or the Maloofs are getting even cheaper. I really don't like the move if it means more and more Nocioni at PF, I'd much rather see him stick to the 3 while Donte plays at the backup 4.

Such are the trials and tribulations of being a homer over a journeyman.

I really wanted to meet Gooden4life. I was hoping he would move to Sac, and I would actually see this guy. Damn my one chance now seems gone. O well, we will never have to hear that Chris Webber was a poor mans version of Drew Gooden ever again.

Hm..I wonder how much we had to actually pay Gooden for his 11 days on the team? If the Bulls basically paid about 3/4 of his salary before he was traded...and we saved 2 million...how much did that leave Gooden with?

I bet we got a maloof discount. i wish gooden the best, and think he can be the thing that puts the spurs over the lakers. Buying him out was not just a money saving benefit to our organization, but a huge favor to Gooden.

That made me think about Mikki Moore for some reason. Can you believe the Maloofs paid Mikki Moore over 12 million dollars for 1 1/2 years of play! That alone should put Petrie on thin ice.

GREAT Move! Kings save upwards of 4-5 million dollars THIS year and move a player that would take minutes away from Thompson, Hawes, Diogu, Simmons, and even Nocioni, all players who ARE or potentially WILL be in our future. This is the WORSE team in the entire NBA here fellas. It's not like Gooden is going to change that, contrary to Gooden4life's irrational faith in the guy. So getting rid of him, opening up minutes and savings MILLIONS of dollars in the process was ABSOLUTELY the right thing to do.

I'm agree to a extent Smills, but I don't see Diogu or Simmons as our future. I agree Thompson needs as many minutes as possible, but I don't see why Thompson and Gooden could be a great one-two punch. Especially with Thompson always getting in foul trouble. Its guess its not a big deal this season since wins are pretty much meaningless at this point. But for the future I think we need some beef, a enforcer type player off the bench to help move people around in the paint.
Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.
