Ya that is considerable, but like nicky said, not sure Portland would do that.

I'd do it, but I seriously doubt that Portland would. Aldridge is the real deal and I don't see anybody in the draft that would be a clear upgrade over him. They're pretty high on Bayless as well.

Dumping Beno's deal makes this a no-brainer. However, Aldridge is a poor rebounder from the 4 spot. Which IMO makes him a bad fit for our roster. I'd rather target a better fit if we're deal the #1 overall pick. But the value is incredible.

Portland fans really believe this is a laughable deal. And i cant see why. They were saying in the trades forum that, Griffin is unproven so why would they trade BAYLESS and LMA? But correct me if im wrong but the notion of Griffin being unproven causes them to decline the deal, when if fact Bayless has PLAYED almost a full season and still is unproven.

What about this, assuming we get the #1 pick.
- Obviously we draft Griffin with #1.
- Trade Martin or Thompson, or both for the #2 or 3 pick & grab Rubio (assuming he declares)
Scenerio #2:
- We have the #2 pick. Draft Rubio.
- Again, trade Martin/Thompson or combination for top #3 or #4 and grab Harden; with late 1st we
grab Terrence Williams.
Dunno, just a idea, but i'm getting burned out on Martin. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy, love watching him play. But I don't see him being "the guy".
For 1: He is always trying to draw the foul, instead of trying to make the shot; and at the end of the game you won't get that call.
For 2: He has not really improved defensively. He does get some steals by playing team D. But 1on1, I honestly can't remember him ever playing a whole game where I was impressed by his D.
For 3: While still young, by the time we probably are good, he will be 30 or approaching 30. How many years would have where he is in his prime, and we could be a legit contender?
So, with that said I think now is the time to trade him, get something good to build with our young team. I think taking a chance on a combo of Rubio + Harden/Griffin.

So hard to follow what you are saying here; but im willing to trade martin only if we get a serious deal/value in return...
something along the lines of...
#1, Martin, Beno, Noc
for
#5, Westbrook, Green, Watson(buyout), Weaver, Atkins(waived), Wilkins(waived)
OKC
Swift
Blake
Durant
Martin
Beno
with..Noc, Nick C. Wilkins(resigned) coming off the bench
Sac
Hawes
JT
Green
Harden
Westbrook
with.. McCants, Garcia, Weaver coming off the bench
In 2010, with Kenny, Watson, Wilkins, Atkins all coming off the books we should be able to make a run at Bosh/Amare
Future lineup
Hawes
Bosh
Green
Harden
Westbrook
looks good to me..

No I second that. That may be one of the worst trades I have seen proposed.

As others have said, the question isn't "would sacramento do this?", but "would Portland?"
And the answer to that question is a resounding NO. The difference between Aldridge and Griffin shouldn't do so large that they should have to give up Bayless and their First Round Pick AND have to take on Beno's contract. It's a terrible deal from Portland's POV.
Aldridge had a bit of a rough start to the season, but he's been great since then, especially recently. He's an 18 and 7 guy who's a great offensive rebounder and his defense is a lot better than most people realize. He's also still improving, as his inside post moves have gotten appreciably better as this season has gone on. To think that Griffin is gonna be a TON better than what Aldridge already is might be a bit of a leap of faith. That's not to say Griffin can't be the better player, he certainly can, but no way should Portland be giving up as much as they do in that proposed deal.
On top of all that, the Blazers have simply invested too much time and energy with Aldridge to give him up for an unproven NBA commodity like Griffin.
