The Maloofs ran off Mike Bibby and Adelman, not Petrie. The Maloofs got fat head sydrome from our success and forgot it was their wallets and Petrie's brains that gave us our success. Artest couldn't be resigned by the Maloofs because their hands were still tied to CWebb (Kenny Thomas) and Shareef. The Kings have had 4 coaches in the last four years and Petrie has had to make different personnel trades. Petrie has the second most wins of any NBA GM. These are the facts.

You have Williams and Price for Bibby and Anderson... then you have Abdul-Wahad for Anderson...

We only got Nick Anderson from Orlando for Abdul Wahad... not in the Bibby deal

Wolfay do we actually agree again? Enough with the attempts to bash Petrie. Atleast this thread didn't start the year after we drafted Martin late in the draft. Pure propaganda crap if you ask me.

Bottom line. Without petrie, 1999 - 2006 never happen...
The kings would have just continued to be just as sucky as they always HAD been.

Bottom line. WITH petrie, the worst season in franchise history happens.

For the millionth time i have stated this, IT WAS A REBUILDING YEAR! And one finally done right. Get off it.

As this is obviously going down the path of yet another "let's blame Petrie for XXXX"..."No, Petrie is a Saint" thread, I'm saying that it's time for this to just fade away.

Look, Petrie has taken some risks over the years. Some of those risks haven't panned out, some have. It's valid to debate whether or not his moves are (or have been) good or bad moves. But I swear some here seem to go out of their way to make Petrie sound like Al Davis on steroids while others make him sound like Gandhi. It's getting a bit boring.

With a rebuilding team that is looking for yet another new coach, there should be plenty to discuss about the Kings this summer. Unless there is something specific about the pros/cons of a Petrie decision you want to discuss, why don't we give the whole "Petrie is good vs. Petrie is bad" general debate a rest. These debates have nothing new to offer and just turn out to being pointless exchanges.
