Potential Run at Amare this time?

Post#1 » by KF10 » Wed May 20, 2009 4:51 am

During the trade deadline, the Kings were interested on Amare at the time. And talks subsided after Petries refusal of giving up a package of Thompson, expiring contracts and the pick. But the Maloofs did said that at the time:

Just don't forget what Kings co-owner Joe Maloof told us recently when we asked about Stoudemire: "We looked at it. Never say never, but right now, no."

I'm pretty sure the Maloofs Bros. are disappointed of the pick (#4). Should we push for Amare around draft night? Even though, his contract status is looming?

We need to do SOMETHING. Something exciting. I WANT Petrie to roll the dice. If that means taking the risk on a trade, then so be it. All I know is that I don't want to go through what I went through tonight ever again. Stressing myself out the entire day only to see that the outcome was exactly what I had figured it would be all along.

It doesn't matter, though. This is the Kings. We could trade Kenny Thomas for LeBron James and LeBron would probably suffer a career ending injury as soon as he set foot in the Kings practice facility.

I don't see how Amare would even CONSIDER re-signing with us unless, somehow, we got a very good FA PG. We would have to trade Thomas/Thompson/4th pick (if that even works on for salary).

Hawes
Amare
Noci
Martin
Beno
+23rd pick?

isn't much better than

Hawes
Thompson
Noci
Martin
Beno
+4th pick
+23rd pick

Hell yeah, lets make that trade. I'd GLADLY trade #4+KT+other players as part of a package for Amare. If we could pair Amare with Kevin, we're a PG away from a title. You get a 20/10 athletic big man that's 25 years old then you DO IT and don't look back.

??? They would DEFINATELY want Thompson + 4th + KT for Amare

How is

Hawes
Amare
Noci
Martin
Beno
+23rd

better than..

Hawes
Thompson
Noci
Martin
Evans
+23rd ???

Maybe a few extra wins but...Amare DEFINATELY leaves in 2010.

Amare is not without his positives, but without a strong PG he's less effective in scoring, and scoring is really all he does, and all he wants to do (he has said as much). I'm desperate, but that's the only reason I would consider looking to trade for him.

Do you really think Natt use of Jason Thompson, Hawes and Donte was that good he was the best judge of talent since he thought Mikki was an enforcer? A Mikki Moore who couldn't get a minute on a championship level team despite missing 2 other big guys. You really think Natt got the most out of Thompson? Not only that but the Maloofs treated Thompson softly because Jason Williams thought they threw him out too much to soon when he was a rookie.

A PG will open things up more for JT/Hawes. JT went from a 10/6/.4blocks in Nov to a 14/10/1.4 in April. How did that guy not improve all year? He is realisticallly with 4 more touches a game in 20/10 territory since he gets to the free throw line a lot. 2 top 10 pick big guys, plus KMart plus # 4 PG this year this is a very solid young and up and coming roster. We still have a couple needs to be filled but this is a realistic expectation. Westphal or Jordan are head and shoulders above Natt.

Guys I don't think we are too far off anyway. We need a 1 and HOPE Hawes and Thompson are who we think they are.

Ugh, we might as well try SOMETHING. I was sooo pissed/disappointed last night that i didnt post because i would have been banned. If this team doesnt make a splash this summer then we are in trouble. The Maloofs thought last years attendance was bad? It can get a lot worse folks.

I agree with Mitch, I just don't think he's as real deal as it appears sometimes. Although, I think there is still potential for him to maybe even develop into a solid high post player that could play along side Hawes. That and we'd obviously be able to go back to pick and roll, pick and roll, pick and roll, and Beno would look a lot better since that's how he wants to play.

It scares me that he is expiring soon, so I would only offer thompson, 23, 31 and greene for Amare. No Martin or #4 purely because of injury issues and fear of him leaving in the offseason. Best case sceanrio- He could be our webber type savior...

I'd want to keep our 23, maybe add KT exp.

At LEAST keep our 31. We need a PG, even a raw talent at 31.

How can we make a play for Amare when you think he will end up on YOUR bulls roster JSrose?
