Ideas to make the best out of #4

Post#1 » by murray » Wed May 20, 2009 5:40 pm

Here are a few ideas to make the best of a bad situation:

1. I believe Smills posted this one. Memphis sends Jaric and Rubio to Sacramento for Thomas and Hill.

2. Kings send Hill, 23, and 31 to Memphis for Rubio.

3. Kings send Harden and #23 to Thunder for Rubio.

4. Kings send Thompson to Grizzlies for Conley. (bring on the boos, but works out well for both teams).

5. Here is my draft board (for the kings only) I have right now (will change before the draft). This does not take into consideration players we may select to trade like Hill or Harden.

1. Griffin
2. Rubio
3. Evans- (only if he can prove to be a pg)
4. jennings- (could be #3 by draft)
5. Thabeet- (not a fan)
6. Harden- (take earlier for trade)
7. Hill- (take earlier for trade)
8. Lawson (8-11 order will change daily)
9. Curry
10. Maynor
11. Flynn
12. Clark (would love to clear sf space for him)
13. Derozen (not a fan, but will move up the board)
14. Johnson
15. Teague (good shot at him with 23)
16. Blair
17. Holliday
18. Mills (18 &19 interchangeable)
19. Calathes (could be a good pg)
20. Henderson
21. Mullens (too much potential, this years Deandre Jordan)
22. Collison (not too high on him. Has trouble against big pgs)
23. Casspi (petrie type pick)
24. T. Williams
25. Budinger
26. Daye
27. Ellington
28. Price
29. Lawal
30. Hansbrough
31. Young

Really? Do we need another trade already about the same thing over and over again?

Another possible move would be to move JT,23,31 for Rubio from the Grizzlies. This is based on whether they prefer JT of Hill. Either way, both players fill a huge need in there lineup.

This is supposed to be a thread on making the best out of what we got. All ideas. Don't post in it if you don't like it. Unlike you, I want the Kings to stay in Sac, and I am trying to get some good ideas together to build the best team to keep them here.

I think rubio may be a real possiblity, but i dont want to count on it since there may be better offers.

My best idea is that washington and minny will both go for james harden to fill their sg holes. minny gives #6 and #18 for #4 in order to beat washington to harden. We draft jennings and we get 2 picks where petrie is the master of in 18 and 23, plus 31. From there darft the best players and at least 1 of them will be solid.

Minny does it because they have tons ofyoung players and can afford one of their 3 1st round picks to get their guy.

we do it since there isnt much of a drop for our needs. and we can get a little risky with an extra pick and maybe get an extra pg so create motivation and competion for the pg spot. This draft has an abundance of pg's and there will be steals in the late first round.

Jennings - (lawson, evans, flynn or best pg at #23), udrich
Martin - Garcia
Nocioni - Dante Cunningham #31
Thompson - Greene
Hawes - Mullins#18 (could be a sleeper if coachie can get him focused)

this is a team that could make some noise as a young team and still use thomas, nocioni and udrich as trade bait possibly and attract a top level FA sf with our new up tempo team.

I really like the idea of moving back like that, and still ending up with Jennings. Just I am not sure that this is the draft that happens in. IMO 3-10 are pretty equal, and 11-25 are just a step behind those. But it sure is worth a try.

This looks like another mock draft thread to me...
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.
