Well I have recovered from the disappointment of the NBA draft lottery. I was just thinking of all the rotten luck the Kings have had. Then I began to think of the good times. Man those Adelman years were sweet

Then I was thinking of the years back before. Mitch Richmond was the teams main guy. Here is some of his info from Wikipedia:

Richmond was drafted 5th overall in the 1988 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors, following two years at Kansas State, where he averaged 20 points per game, and two years at Moberly Junior College in Missouri.

A player with the impact of Mitch is what the Kings need. With Petrie in charge it is Mission Possible all over again

I'm thinking Evans or Harden if Petrie plays it straight up. If he can trade, who knows???

I know a PG is needed and I am fine with that. But if a big tough guard or swing man is available, that may be the best value at #4.

I can totally agree with this.

I'm fine with that if it truly fills the need - a part of which would most likely mean moving either Francisco or Noc because a third swing guy like that starts to become redundant and is not something we have the luxury of just stashing on the bench to develop right now. We need guys who can start to play and earn their NBA minutes from the first year. The kind of guys that you are talking about will be the guys to sign to short cheap vet deals when we get back to the playoffs and can start to think about contending - four to five years from now. This draft is still building the core talent of the team and because of the fact that it is somewhat weak and more of a role player project draft we need top think about a guy who is going to mesh with the resst of the core that is here as a glue guy because that is what we do not have now.

Quincy Douby put the same stats as Harden how did he work out? There are probably 15 SG who put up a 20/4 in the NCAA. The draft is so over thought. We need a PG more than any other need, there are many very good ones available. Westbrook had similar crummy stats 1 year of college stats last year like Holiday and played out of position because Collison played PG and put up a 15/5 his NBA rookie year. Both had very similar FT% and 3 pt% in college.

Their games are nothing alike though. You can't just lump everyone who averaged 20/4 will be predetermine to have the same success of player X. That's silly.

I'd love to trade MARTIN for a Point Guard and draft a SG... K-Mart just isn't someone you built your team around... he's just not... he's a GREAT 2nd option, but he's not a franchise player

A 17 win team with an untouchable player? C'mon now!

Kevin's not untouchable, but there's just no viable deal out there for a PG.

Exactly, if you did you could literally take every player in existence and compare them to the biggest busts in history and come up with your primary reason to not draft them.

The difference between Douby and Harden is rather striking. Hardan makes plays for the people around him which is something Douby desperately needs to do.

Are you sure you want a player with the impact of the Rock? Dont get me wrong I've always been a big fan, but the team wasn't that good, and Richmond wasnt able to carry them to the playoffs year in year out.

I think we need to go with Jrue Holiday if we can't get our hands on Rubio. The guy is 6'4" averaged 23/7 in high school leading his team to a state title. Went to UCLA and was only a role player in his first year because UCLA had some clown named Collison who had been in 3 final fours in 3 years and came back for his senior year. In college Jrue played out of position and had similar shooting % and FT% to Westbrook who averaged 15/5 his rookie year in the NBA. Is also a lockdown defender so is the very complete player outside of Rubio. Harden is not a PG nor is a franchise changer but with a #1 PG makes Martin the #2 option which is his stregth. This was the same thing that happened with Bibby and Peja, Bibby allowed Peja to be a tough #2 shooting option instead of a soft #1.
