Lakers vs. Magic

Should be a good series I think the PG play is huge. Rafer should be able to expose the aging, slowing Derek Fisher. Also the Lakers need to defend the pick and roll much better than any of the Magic's past opponents.

Key for the Magic: Let Kobe get his, make the rest of the team beat you.

Prediction: Magic in 6. Ya I said it.

I will be attending game 1, tonight.

GO MAGIC!!!

The Lakers are terrible at defending the pick and roll (see Rockets series), so the Magic should definately take advantage of that (and they will). Apparently, the Lakers aren't going to double Howard, but we'll see how quickly that changes when he puts up 30/20/4. Basically, Odom is the key to the series. If he has a good game (15/10), Lakers will win...if he doesn't, I see Magic in 6 as well.

Where's your seat at tonight?

That is true. Although my only concern is that Kobe will not let his team lose.

My seat is section PR3 seat 12.

Also I walked through the airport with matt leinart wearing my USC shirt haha.

Well Phil Jackson is 38-0 when he wins game 1. Howard or the Magic went freezing cold last night. I can't give DHoward too myuch grief I remember when Kobe choked in his first couple of years in the playoffs. It is really there first time on the big stage. Can they stay? For as good as Howard is remember that the Cavs were a terrible match because the Magic are loaded at the 3/4/5 and the Cavs had no one at the 4/5 other than Varejo who could gaurd any of these guys. This advantage gave Howard a lot of easy buckets. The Lakers don't have taht same problem. The Magic can still win but when you choke in the first game it doesn't bode well for game 7.

My favorite play was when Kobe had the ball with 10 minutues left he backed down Petrius, elbowed Petrius in the chin, then turneed and went to the basket and Petrus stays in front Kobe creates contact again and sinks the basket +1. The NBA sucks when it turns into a FT contest because it will never be even Kobe, Lebron are involved.

I have coached at the high school level in baseball and my teams played with the undefeated powerhouses and the umps would call our kids out if the other team threw the ball over. I had one parent from over from the other team an apologize because they saw how lopsided the umps were and knew it. There is no level playing field. You have to level it with smarts, toughness and clutch.

I remember that exact play. I actually rewinded the DVR to show my wife complaining how he initiates all the contact and Pietrus gets called for the foul. He came off a screen a few plays before that and jumps with his legs out imo, falls and Pietrus gets called for that as well. The announcers said MP hit him with the body but conveniently the four camera angles shown never shows that contact.

Was that the play he got free from Pau's OBVIOUS illegal screen. Pau just ran right into Pietrus trying to fight through over the screen. The game was very poorly officiated.

Odom played nearly the entire game without his jersey tucked in. Did he ever get called? NOPE.
