Suns fan here just seeing what the reaction would be for an Amare trade from the Sacramento fans.

We were discussing a possible Amare for Thompson, Thomas and #5. What do you guys think? Interested?

too much for a guy who already had micro fracture surgery and is an expiring contract next year..

its a risk taking a guy whos going to bolt for a contender or a bigger market like newyork.. etc.

also thompson and 4th for stoudamire? thats like taking 3 steps back from rebuilding.. we lose the chance of getting a point guard. we lose the potential of an ACTUAL big..

size and skill set wise JT is better than amare.. (skill i mean shooting, passing... and probably defensive capabilities)

NONE. THere's no way we keep Amare in Sacramento. That package is FAR too rich. I don't think I'd do Thomas + Thompson OR #4, let alone both. I think keeping those assets and waiting for a better option to surface is the proper thing to do.

Depends on who's there at 4. If it's a high value pick like Rubio no way. If Rubio, Griffin, and Harden are all off the board then maybe. A steep price but that's probably what it would take and I think it's somewhere in the neighborhood of possibility if he signed an extension.

I'd do Thompson, Thabeet, and Thomas for Amare.

I wouldn't do Thompson, Harden/Rubio, and Thomas for Amare.

Only way kings trade for amare is if there is an EXTENSION. Otherwise we wont trade for amare for 1 year.

Sorry I had a typo saying you had the number 5, it's really the number 4.

Okay so assuming a contract extension occurs and you get Amare locked up for 3-4 years, what do you say?

no, you ask FAR too much for a guy who was injured half the season and had micro-fracture surgery.

NOt sure if contract numbers work.

But assuming a EXTENSION.

I would offer.

thompson.. kenny thomas (8/9 mil expiring) and 23rd pick.

Thats assuming that he is healthy and will sign an extension.

I think Amare's on the block because the Suns can't or won't resign him. With that being said I'm indifferent to him being a King.

even with the contract extension id say no way.. amare is 26? 27.. when he reaches 29 or 30 his knees will do wonders and turn him ground bound... also he isnt much of a defensive player.

were doing the suns a favor if we do this.. so no.

only way i see this happening is a three way trade involving the 4th, the grizz and their 2 and fillers and stoudamire..

we get the 2

suns get the 4th

grizz get amare.

i wouldnt have Amare on the kings just because we have such a bright future with JT and Hawes that we would be better off in the long run opposed to Amare

Remember both CWebb and McDyess were similar dominant big guys who were never the same aftr the surgery. Plus he has eye problems also he has to wear goggles if his eye comes undone again his career is over. Add to it that the Nowitzki's and Duncan's are still playing when the big athletic guys like CWebb's and McDyess's were all done early. Except Shaq who runs like Illgauskus now. I would keep JT he will have a long career very gpood career.

We can add Diogu for scoring off the bench and our 3 are very good. In April when JT/Hawes were starting they averaged a 29/19 when Aldridge/Odom only averaged 25/15. These guys are a lot better than their year average because they didn't start the whole year until the Miller trade and played better later.

The deal with Amare in Sacramento, is while he's incredibly talented and talent is always welcome, there are a few sticking points that I think would make a deal to the Kings pretty unlikely.

1 - Kings primary goal this off season with regards to the roster by most every account is PG, and that's not Amare. Kings would need to use their #4 pick or figure out a trade to address that position. Therefore, any trade including the #4 where Sacramento doesn't get a PG that is supposed to be at least starter quality is a trade that King's brass is unlikely to do, unless we somehow get that PG before the draft w/o using #4.

2 - Kings already have two up and coming big men that we're pretty high on in Thompson & Hawes. I would imagine that at least one of these would be necessary to get the deal done but the max would be one, I don't see Petrie including them both in a deal for most anyone, including Amare.

3 - With those restrictions in place, the Kings offer would probably not be as good as one from other teams, and would probably get rejected due to receiving a better offer. In doing just a quick check probably about the best deal I could see Sacramento offering would be something along the lines of...
Jason Thompson, Andre Nocioni, Kenny Thomas, #23
for
Amare, Goran Dragic & A. Tucker

If that's a package that peaks the interest of PHX so be it, but I'm thinking they'll likely get better offers.

Thompson & #4 probably aren't moving in the same deal, even if it means moving up in the draft. Also, I don't see Sacramento looking to downgrade from Thompson to Arthur.

If the Suns are really looking to move Amare, they'd be smart to focus someone other than Sacramento, we just don't make good trading partners in this case.

Seriously, if you want a prospect and top 5 pick, look towards Washington. They're much more equipped to handle an Amare deal and actually retain him than the Kings.

#5<#4
MCGee<Thompson

and I don't even know if the Wizards do THAT deal.

No need for AMARE he would demand a huge contract from us in wich it would likely blow up in our face !

I would rather have SHAQ if it came down to it giving NOCIANI , K9 (EXPIRING) & BENO for him though i doubt that happens if it did i would say we instantly could be a serious contender !

I would not deal HAWES,J.THOMPSON,K.MART or the # 4 pick to get him thats why i cannot see getting Shaq

I would say 1 thing if we got Shaq & won a title we could finally rube that in the Lakers faces as well as SHAQ being a KING and winning a title would really piss off LAKER fans .

lol :D

While true, I still don't want shaq. And we wouldn't win a title if we got him anyways.

Not saying we would win a title with Shaq but if we had him and able to keep HAWES,THOMPSON , KMART & THE 4TH overall pick i would say the odds of us winning a title greatly increases .
