Harris for Memphis 2nd

Post#1 » by hbhakta » Fri Jun 19, 2009 6:06 pm

Im assuming they want to get Ricky Rubio. If Rubio falls to the kings at 4, would you consider a rubio for Harris deal?

well this just means there is no way rubio ends up in sac.

if memphis didn't want rubio, they'd find a way to work out a 3-way w/ harris.
Harris' value is around kevin martin, however he plays a much more needed position, so he'll be able to net memphis something of value.

I seriously doubt that anyone would trade Harris for anything BUT Griffin this draft. But....it could happen. *shrug*

Smells like B.S. This is Memphis just trying to 'bolster' offers as they throw out overpriced offers. It's pure posturing on Memphis part.

I personally think it's just speculation.

Are there any potential trades scenarios that have gone underreported?

Sure. The New Jersey Nets are said to be willing to part with point guard Devin Harris. The Griz should ponder if Harris is worth the second pick.

Sounds strange. But that scenario sums up the Grizzlies' draft one week out: Expect the unexpected.

At first I thought the Kings should stick it out at #4, but then I thought about what Rubio could bring. The Maloofs sound desperate enough to trade Kmart plus the #4 for Rubio and at this point I agree with them. Martin's 20 points are not worth as much as Rubio's 20/10 in the W column and stands. KMart plus a PF at #4 for them would be worth Rubio to Memphis right now. We still have Kenny Thomas' exp and we can trade him for a SG.

If it doesn't work out they PG they could get a stud at #4 equal if it does it fills the seats and we will improve more than we would have without him. I think it is at least worth a shot.

Won't happen you must be sleep typing because you are dreaming. Rubio isn't worth K-Mart in the fourth he isn't god. The Maloof's don't handle trades they can suggest things and they wouldn't suggest this stupid azz trade. Also K-Mart scores more than 20 and who's to say Rubio would be a 20 and 10 guy. Also Petrie isn't scared by any deamnds of GM He'll simply take the player he likes best outside of Rubio and watch that guy blossom. Just like he did last year when Bayless was off the board he picked his guy Thompson, but had Bayless been there he'd take BPA. Martin is going no where if we get Rubio great if not too bad this is the NBA draft not the Ricky Rubio draft.

This is pure crap. I don't believe this for a 2nd. Just Memphis trying to stir the **** and drum up value for that pick. Does sound more and more like Rubio staying in Memphis, even if he is picked by them, is unlikely.

Wow, if the Grizz can get an established starting PG like a Devin Harris for the #2 pick that is wonderful for them:)

But the story I read was they also part with Gay to make the deal go

Well it is sort of tough to have the #2 pick in this draft. Its a PG rich draft but as you stated, the Grizz already have the PG spot covered with Conley & Mayo. Why would they even want Harris?
