4 days before the draft....and you believe these things as fact? I smell a smokescreen. Most EVERYTHING that is in print this week, will be fiction and half-truths. Take it with a grain of salt.

My prediction:
IF Rubio is there at #4, we take him. But we're DEFINITELY NOT trading up for him, that much I know.

Couldn't agree more. I think the Kings like Flynn enough to take him at #4 if Rubio is off the board. And I just can't imagine them passing Rubio up considering the affect drafting him would have on the fanbase. I seriously think its Rubio or Flynn come Thursday.

There have been tons of rumors saying jru holiday would be the kings second choice. So it just goes to prove that there are gonna be rumbling about every guy. Smills is right if rubio is there I think we take him but if not i do think that petrie will take flynne.

I've been hearing different things as far as what Sacramento's big board looks like, and from what I hear there are even divisions in the room. I've hear Rubio, Flynn, Holiday & Evans all being among those mentioned. I think right now based on everything I've heard I'd go Rubio then Holiday.

Ya, Holiday is going to be our guy if rubio is off the board. Not flynn.

^^ that is correct

If Rubes gone, then it was just reported that Evans emerged as the 1st runner up on our Kings board

i think holiday is SOOOOOOO overated! they are hyping this guy up so much its making me sick. he hasnt really proved much in my opinion, and who really cares about what he did in high school! its high school! there have been players like D.Wagner and even Kwame that had GREAT stats in high school.
nbadraft.net have him at 19 on their mock drafts and after watching the workout he did, he didnt seem to be any good at one certain thing. I read sumwhere that jennings and flynn ran the show in sac last workout holiday wasnt even mentioned.

PLEASE GEOFF PICK A REAL POINT GUARD THAT CAN RUN THE SHOW!!!

i think

1.rubio
2.flynn
3. trade up!! (without giving up jt or spence of course) :)

p.s. jennings will be a chemistry killer

The chemistry is so bad here it can't be any worse. Jennings athletically is gifted, but will have to learn the team game and to handle himself in the press. We NEED a guy who is going to create a buzz with the fans as well as produce on the court. Even if you felt Jennings will figure it out and become a leader for a club he's still raw. The Kings can't afford to pick him. Just a note as big as I am on him I've never said we should draft him at four. He's a project.

Evans IMO is the best guy physically in the draft. Evans will be a player and he's impressive. What position he will play is debatable, and he's not going to be the guy the fans get behind right away.

Holiday is a mistery, but again he won't be the guy the fans will get excited about.

Curry is a guy the fans will like. I don't feel he's worthy of a top four pick, and I can see where he may not workout at the pro level right away like Mike Dunleavy Jr.

Flynn is a guy who people are falling in love with. He's had some breakout games in the NCAA tournament/Big East tournament. He's very media friendly. He's the little guy. He's answered all the questions about his game and if he can compete at the next level. He's a guy who will have an impact in the league and the fans will identify with right away. He's a leader and doesn't seem to be the guy who will get into any off the court issues.

Rubio is the fan favorite. He's billed as a guy that can be a leader and is very charismatic. The question remains can he play? I think the draft is so deep @ PG that he HAS to do well in his workouts. Everyone will be happy with the Rubio pick, and those who have seen him play think he's going to be the next best thing, but the franchise can't afford the bust here. There is enough intrigue though I think Rubio goes #2 and is traded to another club. I don't feel Rubio will be around at #4.

With the #4 pick the Kings select Johnny Flynn.

I agree with you ICMTM, but as i have been saying I would like us to trade down and maybe get some additional assets and pick flynn around 6 - 9 pick. I would think if Rubes is gone, minny would like to move to #4. Our #4 + #31 for their #6 (flynn) + #18 ?? We would then have 3 picks at fylnn/18/23 to hopefully select players to build with....

I think we would have to take Tyreke Evans to force that trade on Minny, and that's assuming he's the guy Minny wants. Otherwise I don't know if Minny does that.

Like I said in the other thread, if Rubio is taken at 2, then I could see Minnesota moving up to take Evans before us (or even trading with us). But I think they will just let the BPA drop them, which could still be Evans anyways.

Anyone hear Sam Amick on the Rise Guys this morning? Heard him while driving to work, I'm 99% sure it was him. He said Flynn looks like the leading candidate now?

Honestly, I'm 100% ok with Flynn. I like Holiday and I hope they haven't cut him out of consideration, but Sam said this morning that the only ones we're looking at are Evans, Flynn, Curry and Rubio. I'm perfectly happy with Rubio/Holiday/Flynn/Evans. I'm NOT happy if it's Curry.
