Yes. He has the option of going back to Isreal for another year but he said after the draft that he has no intentions of staying and he wants to come the NBA now.

I don't think that he would have been in (knowing that he was predicted mid to late first round) and not intended to come over now. Also I like that he and the others will be here IMMEDIATELY to help bring this team some much needed backbone!

So he changed his mind that quickly?

There was a press conference with Casspi and Maccabi, the general impression is that Casspi is joining Sac, although Maccabi's GM said that they are prepared for the possibility of Sacramento sending him to a year of extra training in europe.

He is in Sacramento tomorrow and the Kings are saying they want him entrenched in the community right away..So I think he plays hear next year.

Someone has to go from.. Noc, Greene, Garcia..

Oh man, they really should keep him in Europe. Please Geoff! Let the kid play SOMEWHERE. If he comes here he gets the Donte treatment X2 because he'll be BEHIND Donte. He'll never, ever play. He should get a chance to develop and he won't be able to do that here.

I want him here, and let him compete for a spot in the rotation

From the press conference, it sounds like they're working on his 250k buyout and he's coming over.

I think Greene and Noc are first on the chopping block. Casspi will stay and Greene will be used as incentive of a bigger trade.

I don't see a problem with playing time if he were here this year. Greene will actually be playing a lot of time as a back up power forward. He played the best and was very effective last year at he power forward spot, he just has to bulk up a little. The coaches were saying they see him playing a more time at pf, although we have new coaches now so who knows. Garcia plays the sg position as well. So there will be some playing time for Casspi. Although I do think we might make a move so Garcia or Noc or Greene might not even be around.

Greene will have to play backup SF mostly, especially if Diogu is brought back which I think he will be. You have 4 bigs at that point that will pretty much eat up those minutes, and god forbid Nocioni at PF, which probably happens a time or two. I still think Tyreke comes off the bench and I forsee the PG/SG/SF minutes looking like this:

PG: Beno/Evans/SerRod
SG: Martin/Evans
SF: Nocioni/Garcia

As it is, Greene is still probably bones himself from seeing any consistent time. Fitting two more guys there is just asking for trouble. Casspi has a chance to continue high level play in Europe and I think that's the smart thing to do. If he does come over I just hope Geoff is more open to sending guys down to the D-league than in the past. That or he needs to start making some deals to alleviate the bulge on the wing.

There is absolutely zero chance of Beno starting again this year. We passed on Rubio to take Evans, Evans will start next year. I do think that Noc will be traded to land a back up center/power forward.

Actually, I could see Beno being the starting PG at the start of the season...but Evans will take over eventually.

We'll never be able to if we don't start him. Beno is more suited to run a team than Evans right now, so I would say he's a more viable starter, even if Evans is definitely the more talented player. I would like Evans to get some time to develop more before I put him in that position.
