Every time someone on here says "book it"
That basically guarantees that it won't happen.

Go back and look.

I said two years ago we weren't good enough to make the playoffs, and we ended up missing it.
I said last year that our roster was one of the worst in the league and we ended up with the worst team
I said before the lottery that chances are we aren't getting the 1st pick and we get the 4th pick

Some of us are simply just not homer's and understand reality

Our team simply still isn't anywhere near good enough to compete for a playoff spot at least not w/ our current roster

Nobody thought the Bulls would make it to the playoffs last year with their young point guard from Memphis Derrick Rose hmm they made it. Yes I know they're in the Eastern Conference, but they sure as hell played the Celtics tough and blew the series because of their youth. Hmm year before that same scenario with the Hawks. I hate when so called Kings fans talk about how bad the team is, but in the same sense say how many lotto balls are we getting next year and John Wall?? Truth is the west is getting weaker teams like the Suns, Jazz, Hornets, who were considered top echelon teams are starting to fall off. Why can't we be a team like the Blazers our talent level is near the same as theirs they get the edge obviously, but why should we just concede we aren't a playoff level team before the damn games have even started. We all want to see the team well and I don't know who in here would be mad if the team overachieved and brought back playoff excitement to Arco. It'd be great and I for one feel the playoffs isn't out of the realm of possibilities. We had bad coaching last year and lost at least 20 games because of that and our defense. Sure those two things up your'e looking at a 40 win team. Call me crazy, but we might sneak in or just miss it we are not a cellar dweller next year sorry to those who want to see this team lose.

umm no were not.

If Evans pans out to the PG we all expect him to and our young core developes(JT,Hawes,Martin,Cisco,Green,Casspi) then with the mix of some solid vets theres no doubt the the kings will be in the playoffs come 2010-2011.

Well to be fair, Bulls were a team that everyone pegged as a contender the year previous. So them doing well isn't really that much of a suprise.

We will improve, I'm not saying we won't. I'm simply saying if you look at us relative to eveyone else, we won't have improved enough.

Instead of saying we are 10th in west, or not a bottom team, simply list the teams that will be worse than us.

I hope when we do make the playoffs that you don't watch the series nor do you applaud the team, because you are writing off the team before the season even starts. I won't do that and nor will I crown us the 8th seed either, but I think if the team performs to its potential it will definitely be top 8 in the west this year. Our matchups makes us too hard to guard and if K-Mart is healthy all year and Hawes plays like he did towards the end of the season as well as Thompson we will be a good team that fights for that spot.

Grizzlies
Clippers
Wolves
Suns
Bucks
Raptors
Nets
Pacers
Warriors
Bobcats
Hawks

Are all teams i think the kings are better than. Dont call me a homer but there is absoultely no reason why the current roster should not win against these teams.

While I think we're likely in for at least ONE more rough ride, I'll wait for the summer to be completed before I decide to 'book it' that we're bottom 7 next year.

For instance, if we land Hedo or Boozer(whether you like it or not-I personally don't from a long term perspective), then I think we challenge for a PO spot next year.

So let's what and see. But yeah, I think we're a likely bottom 10 team next year.

In reality we should be fighting for a top 5 pick next year. I do think this team might shock some people though.

Chicago wasn't a contender they stunk which was why they drafted Rose #1. The team we went 38-44 under Theus we had Beno/Martin/Artest/Miller/Moore. Beno and Moore are the 2 worst players we have had at C or PG this decade. Miller equal to JT finishing last year plus he will be better next year. Artest was the only guy from that team better than next years team slightly better than Noc. Evans pulled his Memphis to as good as Rose at the same age and position and is easily better than Beno. Martin is better now than 2 years ago. Theus coaching record is under .400 while Westphals 7 year record is .625. How is this team not better today?

The year Bibby got here he put up a 14/5 and we made the #8 spot. Evans put up a 17/4 in college and will put up 15+/5 next year. The reason we won 17 games last year was because we couldn't finish games which was why we drafted Evans who immediately helps that weakness. JT/Hawes outproduced Oden/Aldridge in every category in the last month of the season. This team will battle for the #8 this year. We added Noc the toughest guy since Artest, added more toughness in the draft, and added an alpha dog in Evans with Billups like game. This team is no pushover any more.

Nope not dramatic at all. Part of being a real fan is supporting your team through good times and bad not just applauding them when theyr'e good. This will be the same guy who says we won't make the playoffs and then when we do will be at the games cheering saying I knew we could do it all along. You see that's the thing that separates Kings fans from other fans in the league like the Lakers they never have to go through the tough times so they don't enjoy things as much as we do. I hate fairweather fans. This team can definitely compete for the spot will they get it who knows, but to say we are lottery bound in the top of the lottery again next year is just not paying attention to all the factors of why we were a lottery team to begin with last year. It's not lack of talent it's more of bad luck bad defense and coaching.

Their is basically 0 chance of the kings making the playoffs. Unless we get huge trade with a disgruntled star or something. But basically were stuck with the pieces we have. We have to ride out hawes and thompson. I like them, but there not fully their yet. We can trade kevin martin but that really wont do us much good. We are stuck with players like beno, garcia and nocioni it looks like. And we got a guy that will be playing point guard that really shouldnt.

Now tell me why we should blow our cap space for the 10 season to get a guy like gortat or boozer or milsap or someone? First of all I dont want to overpay for those players, second of all they wont help us win more then 25/30 games. And lastly why do we need a big guy when we got hawes and thompson. Basically your saying you want to push them on the bench and stunt their development to overpay and still lose with boozer or milsap players like that?

I don't know how this team is going to get turned around. I'm thinking were going to have to consolidate talent. hawes/thompson/martin/ our first round pick. Maybe a combonation of those guys for a number 1 kind of guy and maybe a complimentary piece. But I just dont know how the kings will get back into contention.

I mean seriously if evans pans out, if thompson pans out, and hawes pans out how good are we really? I just dont know where this team is going.

I completely agree. I hate fairweather fans. I know a guy that was a Kings fan and is now a Lakers fan because they're good. That is just pathetic to me. BUT this is COMPLETELY different. He was only giving his analysis of what HE THINKS the team will be like next season. Obviously he spends time writing about the Kings, he's a Kings fan. He just doesn't have the same optimism...it's very different.
