Nate Robinson

The Lakers and Kings appear to be the front runners to land guard Nate Robinson, a restricted free agent of the Knicks.

Sacramento was reportedly close to swinging a deal that involved Robinson and Jared Jeffries at February's trading deadline, but talks between the Kings and Knicks fell through.

It's possible that the two teams could rekindle talks this summer.

Petrie was interested in Nate at the deadline, and now that we have a big point guard who can guard 2's, do you think we should go after Nate?

I'd do this in a second. Tyreke and Nate Robinson at PG? That's a helliuva 1-2 punch at point. I Start Tyreke but give Nate big minutes off the bench, even playing Tyreke at two with Nate at point sometimes.

I doubt it would be BENO dealt as the KNICKS dont want longterm contracts my guess would be
k9 & a filler

I agree and have no problem with that at all. Nate is a very clever and crafty player. Fans in Sacramento would go beserk every time he threw down a dunk.

You know thinking about it more, after the draft day trade that brought us Sergio Rodriguez I mentioned a rumor I heard about that involved Rodriguez and NY. Appearently, D'Antoni was really high on the guy and wanted to bring him in by way of a possible trade. With these talks of Robinson and the Kings being brought up again, possibly there is a chance that Ser-Rod, not Beno, could be packaged in a deal? I guess anything is possible...

Not a fan to be honest. I already feel that Evans is going to be somewhat of a selfish chucker, no reason to add a guy who defines that label.

Also, it won't be an Udrih swap. It'd be something like Jeffries + Robinson for Thomas. That move alone takes most of our 2010 cap space.

Further, don't we already have enough 1s on this team? Evans, Udrih, & Sergio will all see minutes; what's the point in adding yet another guy?

I would be all over getting Nate if it was for the right guy or guys. Beno or Sergio would probably have to be dealt along with KT.

We would be set at the PG spot but we still would have to add some size and maybe we would do that through a deal with the Knicks. Maybe a possible Min-NY-Sac deal...?

The only 2 guys I would move Thomas for would be Hedo first then Robinson second.

Good it's about time the Kings get the better end of a trade and if New York was stupid enough to do that then great. Get rid of Beno and Jefferies isn't that big of a bum he just is getting paid too much.

Have the Knicks change Robinson to Lee and we have a deal.

I, personally, don't think Robinson would do well on this team. We just traded for sergio and we just drafted evans to be our pg of the future. We would have to invest WAY too much money into robinson when he wouldn't even be our started. I don't want lee either.

Why? We can just SIGN N8.

With that said, PLEASE let him go to the LAKERS. I don't like N8.

Why would Beno and Sergio keep us from signing Nate they are both scrubs whom I could live without seeing either make the roster (though beno will). Nate is better for this team than either of those guys. Start Evans and Martin but give Nate a good load of minutes off the bench and that could be a mean backcourt, adding McCants and Garcia is also good for that one. Then with Casspi/Noc/Greene (whom I am expecting to break out), we got a solid SF lineup, then if we can improve the depth down low we can have a fun team.

I think the key line in there is

It's possible that the two teams could rekindle talks this summer.

POSSIBLY...

And why would we? We already have a backup signed to a long term deal that we couldn't get rid of. I'd rather spend our cash getting a good backup big then another backup PG.

Mccants is gone.

I think we can swing a S&T with Beno leaving and Nate and Jeffries coming back.

I dont see NATE as being a good fit from my understanding he was a huge problem in N.Y. the guy to me is only slightly better than the average point guard in the leauge at best !
To answer SMILLS concern at why not just sign him ourselves i believe the answer to that is if N.Y. signs him they can offer him more money to him than any other team " but don't qoute me " ! If i am correct they would try to please NATE while moving him i dont want to pay him a boatload of money let alone have him on our team !

If we make this deal i think we will end up paying the price later & also believe if we pull the trigger on the deal PETRIE & the MALOOFS are doing it hopefully fillinmg the ARCO seats as NATE is a flashy dunker as winning the last dunk contest at the ALL STAR GAME !

Do not make this trade.......................

Sure they CAN, but they WON'T. They won't mess with their 2010 cap space AND if they were to mess with it, David Lee would be first in line.

I HIGHLY doubt the Knicks take back Udrih, I just don't see it.
