If Noci was traded, I would think that Garcia would start at SF before Greene...but I guess that depends if we sign a backup SG.

Was there a trade with Boston that I don't know about?

I feel like this thread is worthless if were are going to speculate trades and then build a roster out of imagination. Why have such wishful thinking just to have something to talk about? Anways, here's my take on a roster we currently have:

C: Spencer Hawes, Jon Bryant (summer league) or (Free Agent)
PF: Jason Thompson, Ike Diogu (hopefully), Jon Brockman, Kenny Thomas
SF: Andres Nocioni, Donte Greene, Omar Casspi
SG: Kevin Martin, Francisco Garcia, Jerel McNeal (summer league)
PG: Tyreke Evans, Beno Udrih, Sergio Rodriguez
can we just get a new arena already...

I don't think a Nocioni for Scalabrine/Allen deal is 'wishful' thinking. I think it's going of a substantiated rumor from February and considering that it would STILL make sense for both parties moving forward.

It's not Omar Casspi, it's Omri Casspi.
Omar is an Arabic name.
Omri is a name from the bible. He was king of Israel.

*Kenny Thomas will be bought out before the season begins.

Petrie just has to get off his ass on the Diogu part, his "waiting" is scaring me a little bit. He just seems to have no concept of doing the easiest and most likely thing lately. C'mon Petrie!

Fair enough, but other rumored deals have been mentioned in the past as well. We can go all day with these "wishful" predictions. I just think it's foolish. But I guess that was your reason behind this whole topic...I mean the boards have been pretty dead lately.

I'll stick to my more rational prediction reflecting on who we currently have and then (IF) a trade does happen, I'll revise it accordingly.
can we just get a new arena already...

right now it seems like with all the FA's out there....petrie has considerably showed some interests in the players out in the market, but have not made any "strong" strives to make something happen...who knows though...petrie likes keeping things on the down low and then signing someone with a ridiculous contract....

Boy this forum is always dead around this time. We never make splashes during the offseason. With that said, at least now we have yet another thread to keep us busy til summer league starts :)

Hawes/Ryan Hollins
JT/Diogu/Brockman
Noc/Donte/Casspi
Kmart/Cisco
Evans/Beno/SerRods

Wait what? Why would we buy out Thomas when we could trade his expiring contract (especially in this market) for a decent player with a longer contract? If anything, we should try to buy out Beno...give him 20 million to walk away right now 8-)

Someone has brought this up, but I really think that smills is dreaming when we talk about the boston trade. That was rumored hours after the salmons/miller trade went down, and the kings rejected it. So I understand how you can think it's possible, but I seriously think that deal is DEAD.

Evans/Beno/Sergio
Martin/Garcia
Nocioni/Greene/Casspi
Thompson/Diagu/Brockman
Hawes/Oberto/Diagu

Basically the only move we make is signing oberto. Kind of boring, but that's my guess.

The Kings killed that deal then, I think we at least SHOULD be more open to it given our current situation, as it would allow us to look at the max free agents next summer.

Here are the reasons Petrie is not in a hurry.
#1 don't wet your pants with Diogu he is a restricted FA and we can match any offer. No one even bothered offering Lee or Robinson a contract because they knew the Knicks would probably match them unless they were just crazy. No need to make a panic move when you are holding a great hand.
#2 Trade, most likely KT but we'll see.
#3 Petrie will watch the summer league and see how our team plays out. Maybe even another team's summer league player who plays well but gets cut because there is no space with their team or even vets this year with the economy who aren't getting signed.

He is unrestricted. The Kings didn't give the qualifying offer. Same for McCants.
