This goes with the Casspi thread and will help people like me who have not seen any summer league games. I know his stats are impressive, but I want to know other things such as dribbling mechanics (is he under control or out of control?) shot selecton, and athleticism. What do you guys think?

so, what do you make of all the turnovers? Is it dribbling ability or just trying to do to much and from not playing with his teammates before?

Summer League is extremely scrappy and high TO's are almost expected.

He has really dominated who ever he plays. No one can seem to guard him. He is fearless in the lane and he gets fouled a lot as a result.

Hes gonna cause a lot of mismatch problems this year.

Gotta learn to shoot the ball though. I don't want to see Martin and Evans do nothing but shoot free throws, you can't win doing only that.

Agree SKZZZ Sometimes seeing Martin go to the line everytime is boring and having to of them will be double boring. Is it true that he was rarely guarded by the other teams PG? I heard the SG's were the ones having to guard him.

He could be really good or really terrible, who knows cause summer league means jack s****

Yeah, but that was because he was running with a small guard. That will change when he's in the back court with a 6'7" Martin. Other teams will have to choose their poison in deciding where the mismatch is going to be.

In that game against the Warriors they put anywhere from PG's to SG's to even SF's on him. None of it worked, he got where he wanted to when he wanted to. No, the kid is going to be an elite slasher if he develops a legit outside game. I....well.... I don't want to jinx it but I think he could develop into a superstar if he does. At least from what I've seen of his potential. He's going to have to refine his handles a little bit and learn to play off the ball but if he does? Sky is the limit, no question about it.

His game is tailor made for the NBA, as I see him doing a lot of iso and getting to the basket at will. He is tough and will be a good scorer, but is not a ball handler or shooter. If he puts the work in (which I think he will) his shooting will improve. Once you guys get a legit PG, I think Tyreke moves over to SG where he is best served.

Definitely not exclusively, but I think it's great that it could be a good weapon for both of them. I have always liked the idea of having two really strong penetrating wings on the perimeter like this. Unless teams have two really strong perimeter defenders, one of them will get the other team in trouble, and they will consistently put the other team in foul trouble. Not to mention that when you're a good FT shooter, getting to the line is a damn efficient way to get your points.

But again, I do agree that they can't completely rely on it. Kevin's reliance on it is why he's not good in crunch time right now.

Having two, rather big, guards that has a fantastic ability to penetrate to the rim and score is a massive asset to have IMO. I don't remember we ever had this asset before. Mike Bibby used to penetrate pretty well and Doug Christie did it fine but I don't think they were ever on the same level as Kevin and Tyreke on this side of the game.

honestly, watching this dude play, for some reason I feel like he is a Dwyane Wade clone... who will actually play PG

I pretty much agree with what everyone else has said. He needs to work on shooting and taking care of the ball, but his ability to get to the hoop is incredible. I suppose the biggest surprise for me has been his great defense. He hasn't always been perfect but has shown some real promise.

JT/Evans/Martin will all attack the lane and get the other bigs in FT trouble. Yes it is boring but MOST championships and playoff games are won at the line and usually the only way you are stopping the Howard's is getting them in foul trouble. His incredible rebounding will also get people in foul trouble. Evans is also fantastic at getting to the line but making the FT also making I think it was 14/16FTs. Another thing I noticed in Evans is the team most of the time played with a lead in in summer when we had Beno we were always playing from behind big. We are instantly more consistently competitive with this guy.

In my opinion Evans is the most complete non big NBA player since Lebron (whose jumper was also questioned).

Summer league is important Randolph got invited to TEAM USA because of his 42/3rebound performance in summer league play (T. Evans avgd 6 rebounds per game).

Lol man, we are really overhyping Tyreke. And I highly doubt Randolph was invited to Team USA solely because of his SL performance. Where is Morrow's invite?

So is everyone going to hate Tyreke next year when he doesn't become this "Savior" some people are making him out to be? Instead he becomes a normal above average rookie that helps a team but not in any substantial manner, as in push us singlehandley into the playoffs.

By the talks of some...Evans is the next MJ. Only with better rebounding, slightly worse shooting, and better size.

If he continues to work on his problems, (shooting, handles, out-of-control, ect) his ceiling is very high.
