KHTK revamps lineup.

KHTK is changing quite a bit of their lineup today. I'm looking forward to hearing Kriedler on the Rise Guys, although I'm somewhat disappointed by the return of Koz. I know some here like him, and that's cool, I just can't stand him.

P.S I'm not totally sure if it's cool to post the story on this board. It's not directly Kings related but it does concern the most important local media outlet as far as the team is concerned so I think it's acceptable. If it isn't I apologize in advance.

Good! ESPN Radio and KNBR are easier to listen to. I hope Napier off the show is the format change we get.

Actually I think Grants show is being extended. I'm having a hard time finding the exact station schedule. I too, dream of a day without Grant "Peaches" Napear.

I actually don't mind Grant. He does get a bit too intense for me sometimes, but he's apart of the organization, and knows quite abit about what goes on. He has some interesting insights sometimes.

See that's part of my problem with Grant, while he may know more about the organization than a laymen I don't think he knows nearly as much about the inner workings as he would have you believe. A couple of instances off the top off my head, the first was when Hedo was traded. A couple of days before the trade went through Grant had a guest on his show who suggested the possibility of Hedo leaving, and Brad coming back in his place. Grant exploded, he said the guy was ridiculous, and was being irresponsible by spreading rumors that Grant assured were totally incorrect. A couple of days later the trade went through exactly as the guest predicted.

The second example was a couple of weeks before Peja was traded for Artest. Once again Grant was yelling (in general, no guest this time), this time he said he was so sure Peja would not be traded for Ron he'd quit his job if the deal happened. Of course the deal did happen a few weeks later, and Grant made no mention of his previous promise.

In conclusion my point would be that, because he's at practice and interviewing players and may occasionally get some under the table info from time to time, he likely knows more about the team than your average Joe on the street. However, this knowledge is severely limited and frankly Grant makes much more of his knowledge and connections than history would seemingly show.

I don't like Grant, can you tell?

Grant can be a real big d*ck sometimes this is true. But I like to listen to him, he keeps me interested.

Couple of years ago, I remember listening to Grant's show during the offseason (?) and he completely blasted this dude point blank! If I can recall, the dude said something like "We should trade someone good" And Grant said "Oh yeah, that's very easy! We can trade Thomas and Vitaly for Kareem! Heck we can trade Ronnie Price and Thomas for Kobe! You don't get it, you are delusional individual that thinks it is all a game. It's business. You have no sense of player values" *Hangs up the dude w/o letting him a chance to debate*

I was laughing my ass off when I heard that.

PS Grant is a douche bag in the radio.

The only thing i like about Grant is the random drops he provides. Like when Carmichael Dave would continue to play "FLAWLESS" or "I love sport 1140" or the never old "WOW". Other than that i hate him. If I really could have my wish though id want a Jerry Rynolds show but i dont think Jerry would be up for it.

Jerry's show would be this:

Uh uh the the reason the Kings losted the game was cuz they simply were more tireder out there.

I'm not a big fan of Grant's but I understand his appeal to some.

I'm happy to see Koz back, but he's been edging into more political stuff lately and I'm not a big fan of that, not that I don't follow politics but I tend to try and keep my sports talk and my political views seperate generally. Also, I think my views are different than Koz's.

Mixed thoughts on O'Meara being gone.

I avoided the Mike O'meara show all together. There are better porn shows on the net, and after that the appeal to his show was none. Dan Patrick is on as well as the Razor and Mr T. I like Tom Tolbert a lot.

I do like the Grant Napier show because IT'S THE ONLY SHOW THAT TALKS LOCAL SPORTS AND THE KINGS. It's not like we have an alternative, but if there was a better on air personality I'd listen regularly.

They should have moved Carmichael Dave to 7pm. Jason Ross seems to rehash a lot of the same stuff Grant and Mike talk about. Then again, Dave probably couldn't get away with a lot of the stuff he talks about in an earlier slot.

I never liked the Mike O'meara show. I listen to ESPNR and KHTK alot at work, and I never got it.

I'm glad they gave Mark Kriedler a shot, the Bee messed up so bad firing him over braindead Vision. I love the Rise Guys.

I don't much care for Kos, especially on TV. All he does is blink.

Grant's show is good at what it does - talking Kings. But that doesn't change the fact that Grant is a narcicistic fool who sucks as a broadcaster. They should fire him and convince Gary Gerald to do TV with Jerry, they are just so much more enjoyable to listen to.

I think the only reason Ailene is still there is because the Bee fears a sexual discrimination lawsuit. Dumping Kreidler, while retaining her is just idiotic.

Yeah, he's terrible too. Probably worse than Ailene, but he's the boss and I think we've all had complete idiot bosses who have worked themselves into positions they are not qualified for.

Then again, I can't really comment on his editing abilities. The crap he writes in the bylines though... terrible.

I listened to a bit of Koz's show this afternoon and it wasn't too bad. I figure I'll give him a couple of days to win me over. Like I said before I really like the addition of Kriedler to the Rise Guys, I've listened to that show on and off for sometime and really thought they missed perspective at times. I'd expect Kreidler to change that. As far as Aileen goes I've never minded her much. She certainly is what her critics say, but I find the persistent negative slant to her stories in interesting juxtaposition to the uniformly positive slant of KHTK in general.
