Just a friendly poll at Hawksquawk comparing:

Joe Johnson, Brandon Roy, Vince Carter, Gilbert Arenas, Ben Gordon, Kevin Martin and Andre Iguodala.

Please Chime in.

-IMO Roy is top tier and is in a higher list.

-Arenas does not deserve to be on the list of 2nd tier SG's after recent years of injury (and the fact he is primarily a pg).

- VC is an enigma on a new team. He will need to learn his role.

- Martin may lead the pack in scoring, but that will not lead to wins. (Not Martins fault, just no talent/too young talent around him)

-Gordon will be interesting due to the fact he has never really been a full time starter.

-AI, seems like he has the potential, just never reaches it.

-JJ could compete for highest scoring with Martin.

Overall my list of who I would take looks like this (right now, not looking to the future):
1. Roy
2. JJ
3. Martin (efficiency)
4. Iguodala
5. Carter
6. Gordon
7.....
8. Arenas (No thanks with that contract and 4 games played a year)

3&4 interchangeable, 5&6 interchangeable. First and last firmly planted.

Brandon Roy is IMO the most underrated player in the game. This dude's skills and clutch play are ridiculous, I don't even think I'd call him second tier. On the Kings front, I think Kevin Martin and Reke are gonna be a very good backcourt for us. I can't wait to see what they do together.

I'm still unsure if Andre Miller will effect Roy's game. That's another guy that needs the ball in his hands.

This is easily Roy and I love Martin.

EDIT:

Oops, I thought this was the "who is better poll" haha

In that case, I think it is still Roy regardless haha

Brandon Roy that's why he got the big money from Portland. I don't know if Martin can be healthy for an entire year. And isn't Vince Carter a SF ? or use to be?

Not sure how you can say with certainty not Martin. Crazier things have happened. Common sense still says Roy, but with injuries, suspensions, etc... anything can happen. "Certainly" is not a word that should be used when discussing sports.

Vince can play both SG and SF, he is perfectly fit to play either position
