Re: slamonline.com ranks K-Mart 41st best player in the NBA
Good read over all. I have one main problem--it gives off the impression that Kevin is ball-dominant, which he isn't in any way at all. It uses this notion to propose the ideal scenario of Kevin coming off the bench, which isn't at all ideal. Kevin doesn't need that many touches to be effective. He is best when benefiting from a playmaker--and he can do that as well as anyone. Put him in a Reggie Miller type role (where he doesn't control the ball, but is still the first or second option) and he is extremely effective as a starter.
Good article over all though.

Yeah, I read this couple of weeks ago.
The ranking was a bit low for my taste. (Given the track record from them, it is almost a given) The article/analysis is actually decent considering how much of lack of exposure we get. But there were critical flaws in the article:
-Implying Martin as a ball dominant/volume scorer
-Still using the "185" pound number
-No reference about ankle injury (implying that Martin was shooting at 42% FG healthy)
-References of Martin as a bench player
-Implying Martin isn't a good finisher around the rim (we all know this because Martin's ankle injury)
-Implying that Martin is a ball hog/doesn't pass: the assist %
It is a decent write up nonetheless. But nothing special though.

The ranking may have been a little low, but we'll see this year how well he comes back from his injury riddled year last year

Did anyone read some of the unbelievably stupid comments?
The article had some very strong points, but I thought it had some BS too.

Yeah, I read most of them. And they are ignorant and laughable in a sense. It's sad that people does not recognize Martin still.

He is at 100% and is working out at full capacity. I hope he comes into this season with a bang. We need Martin to be healthy (at least 70+ games) to make this team considerably better.
