Who is the starting lineup?

Post#1 » by cdt3 » Sun Oct 4, 2009 5:25 pm

Westphal just said a couple days ago Nocioni would likely come off the bench. Who will start at the SF?

I think Mason may start basically because this team is built very offensively like the good old Kings teams and they need 1 lockdown guy as a starter. Garcia is a monster offensively also but not a lockdown guy. Nocioni also is very good in the paint, but not away from the basket. Will Mason be a guy at 6-5" who can lockdown Melo or Kobe or try Casspi (6-9") or Greene (6-10")?

Mason's defense isn't that good. I'd still prefer Noc. He can spread the floor be the veteran who leads by example and set a tone early.

I'm suprised that Mason is getting voice - he'd not a great defender (in fact, I'd say both Nocioni and especialyl Garcia are above him), but he must be impressing.

I am not very suprised Mason is in the discussion. Actually he has good defensive skills, imho.
His ability might really help the team. with so many offensive weapons he didn't need much to do but taking advance of free space he gets and making people earn there shots on defense.

Cisco might be the better choice of the bank. He just brings the hustle and energy we need in certain situations. And might also be a good leader for the "second" unit.

Nocioni might have a lot of time @ the 4 (implying jason havin some minutes at center)

The thing i am most curious about is how many minutes donte will get (and espacially where)
To be honest i can see him beeing the defensive stopper we need.
Might need (a lot of) time, but he has all the talent in the world.

Unless Tyreke's jumper looks as good as it did last night, this team is going to have a hard time giving the bigs room to work. Unless they plan on posting up Mason quite a bit, he could really be used like Artest/Bonzi in a lot of ways.

From what I understand, JT is at the 5, May at the 4.

I just listed it the same way it was listed on kings.com, I just don't get why May would start over Hawes. I dunno maybe it has something to do with him not participating in summer camp and I didn't see him at that open scrimmage, who knows.

He played 25 minutes last night so he can't be too hurt. Sean May fouled out in under 14 minutes of play? How did that happen?

With Evans at the point I wonder if the ball will move enough?
