I have all the experts say there are not enough good big men on the Kings. But is that really true?
2 years ago the best rebounder in college basketball was Michael Beasley. Do you know who was the #2 and #3 rebounder in the country? Jason Thompson and Jon Brockman. Add to it Hawes and Thompson last year averaged 9 and 10 rebounds when they started last year (Thompson right now leads the league in rebounds in the preseason). Sean May is a top 10 draft pick also who adds depth and play 4/5. Donte Greene is a young versatile scorer but is really a role player right now but could block a shot a game if he played a bigger role. Nocioni can also play the 4/5 well in case of emergency.
The big networks focus their experts on the guaranteed good teams and really do not do the research on the rest of the league. The Kings so far are ranked #7 in the league in rebounding and we have played well against LA and Portland who are ranked #5 and #3. Are the bigs as bad as experts predict since last year we were ranked #29 out of 30 in rebounding?

My opinion, YES we do. We need a legit back-up 7'0er.

Woah, hold on there. Let's not take preseason stats as having credibility here. We may be an improved rebounding team, but that is just never a good idea.
For me, it's not about rebounding, but size. I agree with Smills--we need another 7-footer.

Since you like stats soo much, ill tell you this.
Beasley is averaging less than 6 rebounds a game. Shows you how much college numbers mean right?
Brockman is an undersized player who wont be a shot blocking threat, and wont see much PT.
Thompson is leading the league in rebounding in the preseason, but that's cause he is playing 30 mins per game. If you look at Per40 numbers, he is a respectable #15, but lets not forget that playing the Warriors made his rebounding look even better.
Sean May can score some points, but that isn't our problem. We need a defender to handle the big players, and a 6'9 foward, who never been known for defense, doesn't help.
Donte Greene maybe can get a block a game, but does that make him a big? Francisco Garcia can give you a block a game as well, you want to call him a big man?
Nocioni CANNOT play the 5, unless it was aganist the Warriors running Acie Law at center

So yes, we need a legit big man.

Just draft Derrick Favors or Greg Monroe next year. Then you got the best 1-2-3 big man punch.

That's great, but let's cross that bridge when it comes. Right now, I'd LOVE to see a Kenny Thomas(#4 on the PF depth chart) for Mark Blount(exiled in Minny) deal done. Both are expirings, both have a glut at their respective positions with a hole at the other's position.
It's a perfectly meaningless, yet astute trade for both parties to balance their rosters and get rid of unwanted trash.

the kings definitely need a legit backup center who is 7ft... so why not try for H. Haddadi of memphis? He can defend, rebound and block shots.

Somebody of interest that just became available is Luke Nevill. He's big and can block shots. Goran Suton is another guy I wouldn't mind seeing the Kings take a chance on, his post D is off the charts and he's got some skill on offense too.
