On Nba.com, theres an article about Scott being fired.
Is it possible to get him as an assistant, or some type of extra staff?
WOuld we actually want that?

Who cares...it's the 2nd time he's taken a team to good success and then they've stumbled.

They stumbled? New Orleans is 3-6. The freaking Kings who everyone picked to come in last just won 3 games in a row. And NO couldn't win 3 in a row in some point in the next 70 games??? Rick Adelman and Houston are 5-2 playing without Yao, McCGrady or Artest.
Chandler's trade had more to do with the early losses than Scott. There were only 3 coaches in the NBA that have a better career win % than Paul Westphal: Scott, Phil Jax and Popovich.
Looks like a Maloof level overreaction when they fired Adelman after a playoff loss with no backup plan. Then they only made the playoffs once after they fired Adelman. They finally owned up to the mistake this year when they hired a real coach in Westphal who has them playoff bound again.
Some team will pick up Scott by years end.

NO is (Please Use More Appropriate Word).
It is very much like Adelman and I feel it comes down to not accepting that the talent on your team simply isn't enough.
With us, we were clearly not as talented anymore, but instead of accepting that and addressing the issue, we fired Adelman and thought everything would be okay.
If you look at New Orleans, outside of Paul, West, and Okafor, the rest of their team is absolute garbage. Half their roster wouldn't crack the rotation of any other contending team, and they are still expecting to be an elite team?
Firing Scott is an absolute joke

I have to agree here with Denied. That move was a joke. And it made no sense. And David West needs to shut the hell up. He isnt producing to the numbers he's accustomed to. The guy is just barely puttin up 16pts and 6rebs. That's deplorable! If you ask me, because of his bench like production numbers, he caused Scott to be fired.
However, West does have a point. Scott was gettin a huge ego and showing off his self, thinking he's an allstar hall of fame coach already. But WOW how does a team that consist of a big three in Paul West and Okafor be 3 and 6?

The NO board only has 25 posts the last time I check. Wonder if they're still in shock?
Is he really going to lakers?

I agree with you guys. NO is terrible.
I actually feel bad for Chris Paul, he is a great player and seems like a great guy.
I liked how he showed respect to Evans after they played, showed alot of class.
Anyways, I don't think it's necessarily Scotts fault. They really don't have that good of a team, outside of there top 3.

What are you talking about? PW was a great pick and he is cheaper. If there is any difference between the two coaches, it's not enough to wish we had him instead of PW.

Oh and your sig is (Please Use More Appropriate Word). Quoted sigs are only good if they're funny. There's nothing ridiculous about my statement. Your such a "grass is always greener on the other side" fan.
By the way:
Thompson 15/10/3
Aldridge 14/8/1.5
Now you look like an idiot with your sig.

All right, cool it folks.
Scott is being overrated in this thread. He's a solid coach and nothing more. He preaches the right things, but does so in a way that seems to eventually wear on his players, and he's not particularly innovative.
